Same here - specifically to Avs. While retaining all his current and future salary.I would trade Elias Pettersson for a 2nd.
Kuzmenko (5,5 mil)
For
Harris and Kovacevic (2,1 mil)
Harris and Kovacevic are NHL defensemen, they're youngish at 23 and 26 yo respectively.
MTL have a surplus of defensemen, they need offensive talent. They can deal with the 3,4 mil gap in salary received.
Vancouver needs depth at defense, plus they have 4 of their current D that are up and coming UFAs. They can surely take the 3,4 mil cap relief for further TD acquisitions.
Crosby wants to win another Stanley Cup just like Malkin & Letang but they don't need to win another one they've been to 5 conference final 4 final 3 Stanley Cups they will be career long Pittsburgh Penguins 20 + years for all of them . If some fans want to consider Crosby irrelevant because he won't leave the Penguins then that says more about them than Crosby who's an all time great player and legend .Your life, that’s a bit much. Relax their tiger.
So he is going to play the rest of his career in a team that is irrelevant and needs to rebuild. Might as well retire now, because I find it hard to believe that a guy who is that competitive is going to be happy missing the playoffs and hoping and dreaming of going on a wild run would be happy.
Yeah to Minnesota prospect poolWorld Junior MVP is b prospect?
What, he is competitive and he is still playing. Lots of time to look back and feel good about what you accomplished after your done. This isn’t how any professional with Crosby’s type of career thinks. They all want to win, and don’t just hang it up because some fans might get butt hurt.Crosby wants to win another Stanley Cup just like Malkin & Letang but they don't need to win another one they've been to 5 conference final 4 final 3 Stanley Cups they will be career long Pittsburgh Penguins 20 + years for all of them . Exactly. Any player worth their weight in bird seed wants to lift the Cup again. No matter how many times they have done it.What, he is competitive and he is still playing. Crosby isn't going to leave Pittsburgh in the hopes of winning a cup on another team and then fail he's going to sign an extension likely 2 years with 1 year remaining on his current deal after this season play another 3 years then retire might play longer if he's still playing at a high enough level.I say lightly go all in. Make a move for Tanev. Maybe trade around the depth edges if needed and then play the game.

You wanna play for paychecks? That fine too, as Toronto is always open for business.
This doesn't mean you can't make the team even better than it is, or add depth in case injuries disrupt the chemistry of the group anyway.Honestly - Why would you mess with what is working right now?
I wasn't talking or even remotely thinking Crosby. I was just saying they should target Tanev and maybe some depth pieces. So not understanding your responseCrosby isn't going to leave Pittsburgh in the hopes of winning a cup on another team and then fail he's going to sign an extension likely 2 years with 1 year remaining on his current deal after this season play another 3 years then retire might play longer if he's still playing at a high enough level.
Crosby will do what Lemieux , Yzerman did play his entire career with one team
difficult because kuzmenko and myers have the no trade clauses, so trying to work around that.
to buffalo: garland (4.95) & poolman (2.5 on LTIR) and a 2nd
to vancouver: girgensons (2,5) & jokiharju (2.5)
sabres have cap space to absorb extra money, garland becomes a replacement for at least 6 forwards on expiring contracts. poolman comes off the nucks LTIR so they start accruing cap space ahead of the deadline. girgensons is a ufa but should fit tochetts style in the botton 6, jokiharju is rfa and cheaper than myers. obviously, this is more of a set up trade to allow vancouver to deal with no trade clauses/cap mining.
