Tampa has the same vibe as the 2014 Bruins: Presidents Trophy winners but never truly felt dominant or like a real threat. I think this team is ripe for destroying in a playoff series.

This year’s Bruins team feels dominant.

Great win tonight by the boys - several players stepping up and filling large voids.

1. Hope Backes is okay - lacerations are no joke. Hopefully that’s all healed up before the playoffs - those have a tendency to reopen when constantly rubbed.

2. Good to see Backes return to the goal column.

3. Rask with a strong game - hopefully he can continue tonight’s play.

4. Rick Nash continues to do many small things that won’t show up on a score sheet but overall play a large role in the team’s success. Strong neutral zone play, strong back checking, his stick lift led to the Backes goal - overall he had a large impact tonight.

5. Krug with a couple of sublime passes tonight. He also won some board battles, which is always gravy.

6. Pasta’s goal was a thing of beauty. The patience it took to score that goal and the wrist strength it took in order to slide the puck in from the angle he was at - impressive.

7. The 4th line + Wingels brought the heat all night. Love it!

8. McQuaid played a particularly strong defensive game. Those consecutive blocks he made on open net shots were reminiscent of Michael Ryder.

9. Good to see the refs swallow their whistles for the most part. Gionta got away with a little embellishment on the high stick call he drew.

10. It’s amazing that the Bruins were able to play the way they did with all of the missing players from their lineup. This was a statement game.

11. Grzelcyk also continues to impress. That dangle he had to keep the puck in the zone and tip-toeing through 3 defenders was unreal. He continues to impress.
