It's easier for some to ignore shit people say than others. Not everyone has the ability to disregard trolls on the internet.

I feel for her. She's uprooted her life to a new place and is taking on a pretty significant media role. My wife did the exact same thing, leaving behind all she's ever known to come here and she still occasionally has anxious moments where it can be a struggle.

Amanda's offering a ton of access on social media for fans and doing a great job as a beat writer in providing updates, and yet people still think it's funny to pick on someone they don't even know for whatever reason makes them feel better about themselves. It's embarrassing that people still need to do this in 2017.

I'm sure she'll see she has more supporters than haters out there, but I feel bad for anyone who gets picked on in that way. The majority of the internet are a bunch of lowlifes.

People will ALWAYS need to do this. Bullies will ALWAYS exist due to their own issues of dissatisfaction in their own life, or whatever problems they have socially. The advent of the internet just made the world's toxicity more apparent and gave more avenues for people to act. Fortunately karma/God/what have you has a way of biting back

Can we talk hockey again instead of this?!?!

Why is it that people are happy with one point? Yes we had a couple guys out but the way we played and created chance on chance we should easily have won this! I will admit I haven't watched the 3 period yet but the two first we were good.

Great game by Zacha again he is really finding himself the points will come to him.

Impressive game by butcher especially on the power play?

Hischier also had a great game so far.

Imagine how we can play with a full lineup, I think we will finish the season really well.

Going on the road without your top 3 offensive veteran forwards is a tall task for your dynamic young forwards and having them take on bigger roles. For me, I was very pleased with the effort and thought they could have easily taken the 2nd point. But I can't be upset with coming away with 1 when there is so much of our offensive depth missing from the lineup.

We just need to keep our heads above water. When we're fully healthy, it's going to be fun to watch.

I can't even read what that tweet says, I'm having trouble reading any tweets right now, even the Hynes tweet about Cory, but I did catch that earlier. Not sure what the problem is. I'm having trouble reading it on my phone also. So I don't know exactly what the comments were.

I'm guessing someone took a shot at her weight, which is cheap shot for a multitude of reasons. First of all, she's really not that big if you ask me, and with my emaciated toothpick status, everyone looks probably 20 pounds heavier than they really are to me. She's really not that big. And second of all, the need to insult a reporter (or analyst/TV personality) about their weight is uncalled for. It's irrelevant what they look like. This isn't a beauty pageant. You're not being forced to go out on a date with the woman. When it comes to something like hockey coverage, I don't care how attractive/unattractive they are, nor what gender they are. I care more about the product. Also, if someone is overweight, they know they're overweight. Trust me, I was overweight for many years of my life. Having to hear people to tell me how big I was, really was not the catalyst in deciding to make a change for me.

There's many people on internet forums, social media, youtube, etc, who make accounts just to troll people. I watch youtube videos for mukbangs when I'm bored. There's one girl on there, who had a chat session during one of her videos and she has El Salvadorian ancestry. There were a couple trolls in there calling her every disgusting slur you could think of and one person told her she looked like a transsexual. There's nothing wrong with being transsexual, but obviously the person calling her this, was doing so as an insult. This is uncalled for.

I like Amanda, I think she's very attractive. I prefer her looks and her type to Julie, who looks a little more Barbie Doll-ish to me. If you've ever looked at her instagram, she takes a lot of selfies and looks very confident, she seems to have a very healthy self esteem. And even my opinion on her looks, is irrelevant. Can you blame her for trolls caring more about her appearance than the content that she provides? Sometimes these comments are hurtful, even to people with the greatest self esteem. They're uncalled for. She might not even be taking it as personal, as much as she's insulted that someone had to care more about her looks than the content she provides. I once had a direct family member tell me he thought I was lying and had an imaginary girlfriend, because he didn't ever see a picture of us together. That made me feel like ****. That was one of the most insulting things that I've ever heard. How's that supposed to make me feel? He was implying the girl was too good looking for me. Like I'm a second class citizen.

If you think she's unattractive? Just don't comment. There's a lot of people I think are unattractive, but I don't feel the need to tell them.
Props for writing a book here. You can dump a boatload of hate occasionally on scrubs just trying to get along (see rod pelley et Al) but the above shows your compassion outweighs any of that stuff. Good on ya mate.

I think in the beginning I would have been happy with one point given the ridiculous injury problem we have.

But then I watched the game and saw that they absolutely had the chance to win and should have. Now I'm disappointed.

The internet is not serious business and never was intended to be seen as serious business. The biggest reason we can't have nice things anymore is that the internet is trying to be super serious all the time. This doesn't mean I'm ok with calling people names but these things always happen to someone. It's the internet. Block the Pejorative Slur. Close the browser. Walk away. Who cares? Also, twitter is toxic and aside from some lineup info or news, it is a worthless site to me.

People are happy with one point if it's a lineup filled with kids (more specifically rookies and sophomores) trying to carry most of the weight. This is mainly a developmental season for our youngsters or at least I see it as such, playoffs should be next seasons expectation but if they can run with the better teams as they have shown, that's great.

Need some points from Zacha.

I just think it's a wrong way to look at things like that. It's the same as if you play a horrible game with all your top guys the it's okay to say we were not good the other team deserve to win.

It's okay to put expectations on the whole group while they are missing a few guys because as we all watch they can handle it. Is shows so much character and what this team is about. It was Devils game to lose and we did unfortunately because the team played great.

Back to back, injuries, rookies come on this are excuses we were all the way the best team and if we expect to be a playoff team we should have won this.

Put the bar up higher it's okay, if you guys need for W to see we are a really good team so be it but I don't.

Wrong...everyone does have that ability. It may be harder for some people but everyone has the ability. Come on now. She isn't a little kid, she's a full grown woman. Who is supposed to be a professional beat reporter for an NHL team. If she really can't handle one troll calling her fat without having to get the Devils twitter account involved, that's pretty embarrassing and unprofessional.

I just always feel bad for what these women have to go through. I'm fat. I weight 340 pounds right now (I was 418 in April so YAY ME)... but I can perform a real estate transaction or an appraisal without one person either hitting on me or telling me what they think of my appearance. Life is vastly different for a woman and it shouldn't be. I consider Amanda part of the team. I find myself getting information about the team from her on a daily basis... She's important.

Actually... as an aside... you know the Facebook group Devils All Day All Night? Someone had posted a trade idea a while back and I told them it was ridiculous and would never happen or whatever... the dude sends me a DM, meanwhile I'm not friends with this person on Facebook and never met them in person, and told me that I'm a fat POS and my fiance is disgusting and we should both die.

People do things like that to make themselves feel better I guess.

BTW let's keep this convo going until the inevitable barrage of bad news about tonight's lineup comes out.

nice job on that weight loss, keep it up

Vats wasn't good last night.

He and Coleman were Responsible for the OT goal and didn't tie up Shaw's stick on the other goal.
That was all on Coleman. Vats saw the puck pop out and went for it as he should, Coleman should have stayed put, no reason in hell he needed to be there.

As for Vat having a bad game, I didn't see that at all, admittedly I'm not a statistics watcher so I'm sure I'll get hammered, but I thought he played well last night.

I was also liking Sevs getting a little risky and benifiting as opposed to just being carelessly risky, borderline lazy like past games.

I think Butcher is ready for more minutes. He looked very good with Severson. He could very easily become a 3-4 PP specialist. Moore and Greene struggled a lot while Butcher has succeeded, albeit while sheltered.

Noesen is a must in the lineup going forward. One of our better possession forwards and he's actually scoring on the 5 on 5 unlike a lot of our guys. Scoring at a higher rate than some guys getting much better minutes than him.

5 on 5 Minutes:
Noesen - 276
Coleman - 356
Stafford - 335
Hayes - 239

5 on 5 Points:
Noesen - 7 points (2 goals/5 assists)
Coleman - 7 points (3 goals/4 assists)
Stafford - 4 points (2 goals/2 assists)
Hayes - 7 points (2 goals/5 assist)

5 on 5 Points/60:
Noesen - 1.52
Coleman - 1.18
Stafford - .72
Hayes - 1.76

Corsi (Relative To Team):
Noesen - 48.78% (+1.53 Rel CF)
Coleman - 48.23% (+1.76 Rel CF)
Stafford - 46.42% (-.47 Rel CF)
Hayes - 42.79% (-5.81 Rel CF)

Out of all those depth RW options, looks like Noesen might be deserving it the most. Coleman is also right there with him and does play center, but if everyone is fully healthy we might kick him out to RW. Noesen seems like the healthy balance between possession/defensive play and scoring. And he's doing it with far less favorable linemates than Hayes/Stafford. I would actually almost advocate to keep Hayes in since he is scoring, but I just think based on his history it's just a lucky stretch. And he clearly cannot keep up with his linemates possession wise.

*Again this is assuming Zacha is playing Center. I understand Coleman will if Zacha is on the wing or out.

This Amanda Stein thing is so embarrassing. So some twitter troll called her "fat"... She can just block the person if she wants. Its not as if someone is threatening her. How is that such a big deal? To the point that she is tweeting about it multiple times, the Devils account is tweeting about it, Matt Loughlin, ect... How is she not embarrassed that she's making this such a big deal?

It's the most unprofessional and immature thing I've ever seen from a reporter. She can’t ignore a troll who calls her a mean word? And needs to vent about it her official twitter account for providing Devils news? The amount of personal stuff on her twitter is just annoying in my opinion. Yes, its her own account and she can post anything she wants, but don't you think she would have some sense of professionalism to separate work and her personal life? Not saying she should be a robot but it’s a little much.

this is a bad opinion and you should feel bad :/
