Every poster on HF says the Leafs can't compete with Jack Campbell in the playoffs.

And he has a .917 save % this year.
Bobrovsky has a .916 save %.

Surely, Florida needs better goaltending.
Bob is .899 lifetime playoffs, under .900 4 of 8 playoffs, over .909 once, .841 last playoffs. Could be a concern.

How so? He isn't going to announce that he's going to re-sign with Philly right before he get's traded.

Both Lebrun and Seravelli have stated that it's at least 2 A tier assets that Philly will get in return for Giroux.
Both those guys can parrot whatever they are told by the Flyers GM but it’s also been mentioned Giroux is considering three teams and if he’s just a rental because he’s signaling that. He’ll fetch less. Quite a bit.

Nick Foligno got a 1st and a 4th. Giroux is a much better player and will get a much larger return.

Next poster comes in and points out to some other trade proving the exact opposite. Not the way it works.

But i agree it will be more than 1 + 4th

They do not parrot things from Flyers gm… its their opinion from talking to whoever they talk to in the whole league + their own opinion. Just like you have your opinion but not the connections they do have.

Talking to GMs around the league? Giroux likely will or has given his GM a list of no more than three teams to work with. And one or two of those teams may not even want Giroux. He’s not going to list a lot of teams so he can be traded to some 6th seed like Minnesota, play 5-6 playoff games and be done with it.

think Florida, Avs and Tampa and that could be the universe of suitors. Or maybe it’s Carolina, Toronto and Florida. But it won’t be much for Phillys GM to work with.

Also....I don't think either are going to ruin their reputation by not doing actual research or having opinions that are close to the actual valuation of a player.

So what is your source on it being 3 teams on the list?

Meant the said reporters talk to people all over the league to come up with expected value of players. Not saying Giroux is discussed with many teams. But the teams dont know who else is truly interested in a player so lowballing is fine today but morning of trade deadline things change rapidly especially when other teams land nice ufas.

Wild have over 10MM in projected space at the deadline, no need for retention or a dump, thus the price they are willing to pay is likely less than other teams.

Lambos for a rental, even one as good as Giroux, is likely off the table.

More speculation point to Florida showing interest. 1st 23, Tippett, Carlson, Denisenko mentioned as possibilities.

I just can't see how a pure rental in Giroux is worth multiple high end assets. I could see one of, the 23 1st, Tippett, or Denisenko plus a sweetener, but not multiples of those assets.

Also, Carlson is the Panthers current #6 D-man and they don't have a replacement for him in the org. Don't see how he is involved.

Name the last pure rental that got two 1st round caliber assets at the deadline...

That's assuming Tippett is considered first round caliber, of course.

But anyway, not many players like Giroux are often available at the deadline. So the results will admittedly be few.

Tippett is a good player. He got buried in the minors because we are stacked on all four lines. He can play. As a Panther fan, I am hesitant to give up so much for Giroux, but I do want that Cup so.

Look, man, you're not nearly as tuned in as you think you are. Giroux's agent is talking to other teams before even talking to Chuck Fletcher about waiving the NMC. It's been reported multiple places that that is what's happening. The teams G's agent gives to Fletcher will be teams that want G. He will return a great package with at least a B+ prospect.

Not acknowledging any of the above is just one being intentionally obtuse.

Name the last pure rental that is equivalent to Giroux being available? Seravelli and LeBrun both speculated that G is worth at least 2 A tier assets.

Marian Hossa or Jeff Carter. Neither got 2 first round picks. They received a 1st and a former 1st rounder as the bulk of the deal, but not 2 first round picks.

Isnt that exactly what Tippett + '23 1st is? A 1st pick and a former 1st round pick? Why is that seen as too much for G?

A lot of fans on the Flyers board seem to think Tippett is a low IQ player thatll never reach his potential...I dont think its unreasonable to ask for a 1st on top of him since hes a risk.

Could also see a conditional 1st...if FLA makes it to rd 2 or something like that.
