Sure they would. Playoff experience is better than rest. Especially if the specialist said that it won't get worse by playing with it. Probably gave him a shot for the swelling and pain and sent him back to play. Every year the Flyers have players who look like they're playing injured, then after the season ends they have surgeries. Sure, if playing injured would affect him in the long term they would protect him, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
It's different when the guy is playing for the Flyers versus juniors.

What do you expect from this guy in term of offensive production in the nhl ? 20-40-60 ?

He has to make the team first so I have no answer for you now. He has added more weight and he is built like a brick wall and man can he play. Teams like Ott and boston who had multiple picks are going to regret not taking him. I believe him will make the club but I am not going to throw numbers out there.

Considering how he looked last preseason, plus a 101 pt season and adding 10 lbs, does anyone think he will just look too good to leave off the Flyers roster?

Flyers could definitely use him on their top 3 lines now but I think they will let him mature another year in the OHL and then a part season in the AHL. He would have to blow everyone out of the water in camp for the Flyers to keep him. He would have to prove he's ready for the top 2 lines imo

He's certainly capable of looking like he deserves top 6 minutes. Last preseason he looked like he truly deserved third line minutes. We will see how stubborn Hextall is, because TK looks like the same player every shift.

TK is going to win calder this year !

That is a bold statement from a non-Flyers fan....lol.

Like Striiker said, let's see if he makes the team first.

Playing tonight on a line with Cots and Voracek. First chance to show he belongs.

Any word on how he did tonight?

Listening to the game on the radio it sounded like he was having a good game. Definitely impacted the game. I don't think he got an assist on the second goal but he seemed to help generate the chance.

The announcers, first class homers so take it for what it's worth said he looked really good with Coots and Voracek.

If not for Matthews i could see him win the calder. I think the other runnerup would be Provorov tbh

Good rooks Philly

I was at the game tonight. He was flying around (no pun intended) the first period, and looked pretty good on the PP playing in Giroux's spot (with the rest of the 1st unit from last season all playing in the game today). His speed/quickness is really noticeable, and he managed the puck well. I don't remember any bad gaffes/turnovers, though I did notice he wasn't super effective on the boards when battling some of the bigger guys.

He picked up an assist on the PP on a bit of a broken play, and had a few good scoring chances himself at even strength. Didn't look out of place at all, outside of the board-work, which isn't really something that will be developed in the OHL anyway, IMO.

Has Philly given any indication of how they're leaning re keeping/returning him?

Nope. Hextall's the type of GM that doesn't let things leak out to the media.

The Flyers have a game Monday night against the Rangers. They're going to hold out Giroux, Bellemare, & Streit (guys coming back from the World Cup) in that before making them available for the final two games later in the week. So I'd imagine the roster will be mostly worked down sometime in between then.

I will be very sad if he gets sent back to Juniors, since he legitimately looks like he belongs in the top-6 on this team. I would think that only thing that might hold him back is concern over his recent injury history and questions about his endurance down the stretch in an 82 game season.

I was at the game saturday night against the Bruins. TK looked pretty good. The Flyers forwards in general were having a tough time getting things through the neutral zone. The Couturier line didn't have too much offensive zone time, but Konecny still manages to create a lot of chances. Sometimes he struggled breaking out on the left side, but with that being said, he looked MUCH better tonight against the Rangers. I can only see him continuing to adjust and become a more effective player for the Flyers. I don't see why we would send him back. The best thing for his development is to play in the top 6 with the Flyers.

I don't see why he should go back to the OHL. I know he is good enough to play in the NHL. And probably too good to play in the OHL next year. Seems like an easy decision to me.

TK may be one of Hextall's best trades as a GM, moving up to #24 to get him. Great prospect.

Good read. Just another draft +1 player that is too good to send back. Konecny is not a worry to me. He's just too good a skater not to be a NHL player when you factor in his hockey IQ and skillset, despite his lack of size. I have no problem saying Konecny will be a star player in the NHL one day, maybe as soon as this season.

Rumour was the Jets were about to take him until Hexy moved up, imagine a draft that landed them Connor and TK in the 2nd half of the 1st rd :amazed:

Yeah if that happened, Jets would have committed a double steal this draft. They ended up with Roslovic so it wasn't bad afterall. But Connor and Konecny in the same draft picking #17 and #25. Absolutely ridiculous value. I am actually surprised Hextall was able to move up so easily this draft to get TK.
