Larsson isn’t available. If Toronto wants to pay ‘pry him out of my cold dead hands’ prices, they can offer up Nylander or pound sand. We gave up a much better player than that for him, and we flat out cannot move him.

See my post 251.....stated bad trade for the Oilers, literally the last thing they should do. Yes offer a late 1st pick and top 9 prospect is crap offer also. That doesn’t make the offer I quoted good, it’s terrible also. Rielly holds more value then Larsson and Nylander is worth a lot more then 10th OA.

Can we just lock this thread. Its pointless. Oilers are in no position to trade Larsson unless Nylander or Marner are the main piece coming back. And no Leafs fans want to part with those two. Lock'er Up Mods.

Larsson is not available and Nylander and his butter soft play is not wanted. We traded a much better player then Nylander who plays hard and is not soft to get Larsson.

Leafs should have traded for Tanev at the deadline. Now they should still try to get him.

The Oilers are one of the worst teams in the league, with Adam Larsson on the team. There is nothing that makes him untouchable.

Adam Larsson isn't getting traded to the Leafs at a cost we would be willing to pay while Peter Chiarelli is the GM of the Edmonton Oilers. Chiarelli has to ride this one out to an extent, as Larsson will not get anywhere close to what they traded to get him. We aren't trading Nylander, Kadri, Marner, Rielly or Matthews for him, and all but Matthews probably don't have comparable value to Taylor Hall at the moment.

Does not have to do with Larsson being better than any defender the leafs have.
Larsson is a big part of the oilers. He is also one of the reasons why the Oilers have more playoff wins than the leafs. ;)
to be serious though, Toronto should look elsewhere. Nylander could get them something decent.

The reality is Larsson would replace the Carrick/Polak combo. Hardly worth trading your top RWer or even your young second liner RWer, with good potential. (and I like Larsson) Does any knowledgeable hockey fan really think Larsson is going to vault the Leafs into the Cup finals? Hasn't worked in Edmonton last year or this year.

Admitting the Leafs would like help in the bottom pair. But doesn't every team? Leafs are 16th GAA. Hardly constitutes panic selling.

Becaus marner and nylander are awesome players, fans of other teams can’t stand the fact leafs have them both (and Matthews) so they get salty and say we will have to trade one. This is the actual reason.

Taylor Hall was available for the exact same package and your current front office got Adam Larsson for him. There is no reason for another organization to give up a real #1D for Larsson.

Fans can come on the internet and try to establish their organization's position on player value but it is pretty evident that solely based on player impact on the ice, Larsson is not a #1D and at best, he's a complimentary player on a top pairing. The Maple Leafs played Ron Hainsey in that role and it was satisfactory.

There is no way or need they should or will trade significant assets for a player with obvious limitations like Adam Larsson.
