Presumably he's up right now just to get a feel for things. Besides, last night is pretty much how Coop can be expected to manage that (for better or for worse), so getting penciled in on the fourth line doesn't necessarily mean de facto fourth-liner. Not to mention, the situation changes when Stammer and Cally come back. I definitely don't see him as Top-6 in our lineup yet, and if no moves get made between now and October, he's not a lock on the third line either. So... what? Bury him in Syracuse until the right slot opens up? I say ice the best lineup we can and juggle lines it until it works, because the line juggling's going to happen anyway.
Well, with a normal coach, I think he'd have the opportunity to play his way into the top-six. That's not to say he would do it, but he brings an element that is just not present anywhere in our lineup. Where he does bring things aside from scoring, I think he might start out on more of an even playing field with the rest of the roster than we're used to seeing with Coop. But he's going to have to bring that big, strong, nasty game consistently in order to stick.
