Hopefully he can be the prototypical 3rd line stud . Non stop , no quit , wouod block a shot with his teeth if it meant winning .Eventual PK specialist would be ideal

gate personal made the brutal move to not close it.

Hope he will recover. Big part of his game was skating, starting speed and mobility.

He is THE BEST Devils prospect for bottom line role. Those Moynihans, Stillmans, Salminens etc were nowhere close to the level of compitence, aggressiveness, skating, stickwork etc. Not a great shooter, not playmaker, but your future villainous hound with offensive potential, because he is making all of secondary work, strong on the boards and read the game well.

But for now we are putting it in the box. Crash was brutal, we don`t know how it will effect his career.

Do you know if there are any broken bones or torn ligaments? Hopefully it's not the ACL.

Wow. Great job reaching out. Really glad to hear nothing is torn. He should ultimately be ok then. He dodged a bullet.
And today SKA released interview hour ago with him. We have some good news.

Couple of quotes from there.

— What happened in that episode when you were injured?

— I can only say one thing for sure — I was very lucky. The impact on the side did not immediately hit the knee, but passed tangentially: first, the tibia got hit. If the blow had been directly to the knee, everything could have ended much worse. I flew from Yaroslavl with the team to the game with Vityaz. With such an injury, I simply did not dare to return to St. Petersburg on a regular plane. The leg did not bend, there was a risk of aggravating the damage. Now I am doing physical therapy with doctors, undergoing rehabilitation.
— What kind of emotions are you experiencing?

— It's a shame. I don't like it. I'm already tired of being treated. It's good that the current damage is not as serious as it could be.

— What helps to worry less?

— I don't have any special ways. Maybe I'll go to church later. It's harder to accept that I fell out of the game: I'll have to mostly be treated and get back in shape. It's hard.

— How did the coaches and the team react?

— The coaches, of course, support. The guys in the locker room are joking more: they are trying to take my crutches and hit me with them. But it's all kind. Marat Khusnutdinov has already offered to give me a parrot and put it on my shoulder, and Misha Vorobyov now calls me a Barbossa.

— Is this the most serious injury in your career?

— No, there were more serious injuries. I had an operation, the current injury is nothing compared to that situation.

— You are one of the best in the team in terms of +\-. Do you pay attention to statistics?

— I'm just playing my hockey, giving my best. I show everything I can, what I'm capable of on the court. It so happened that with me on the ice, the team missed only once.(5 on 5 in 16 games) I hope we won't miss it again. Of course, I wonder how many pucks I've scored and how many assists I've made, but I try not to dwell on it. I'm just concentrating on my game.

Thanks for translating that. He sounds like a nice kid and hopefully he can play for a long time. If he gets to NJ we can’t call him Barbossa though. That sort of nickname is reserved. He’s a fun player to watch when he plays. You can see him really trying.

Is it Nico nickname? A difficult battle for the place of the center of the line number three is ahead for both of them.

Our Devils community call him General Bardak. ("Bardak" is a mess\chaos on russian)

No. Any pirate nickname has to be reserved for Barabosha. It’s a spin on one of the characters in thr Purates of thr Carribean movies. Not sure If they made it over to you. Johnny Depp’s rival Captain is Barbossa.

Movie? What it is?
The Pirates of the Carribean. I presume that’s why Bardakhov’s teammates are calling him Barbossa. Sort of a pirate with a pegleg on crutches. That goes nicely with the offer to get him a parrot. I’m not sure if you know the Robert Louis Stevenson book called Treasure Island. That is where thr pegleg pirate with the parrot comes from.

Movies, Stevenson, Caribbean... too many new words for me for one day.

You were too good in irony but didn't catch that one. Getting older? Man, , I could count logarithms and solve complex tasks with degrees when I was 13 years old. Of course I know Stevenson

Zakhar returned! He played two games and even gave a pass in the game against Metallurg.
On October 13 (good that it wasn`t Thursday) in the game with the Lokomotive, the Lokomotive employee decided to count the crows and did not close the gate, and Bardakov flew into the corner of the open side at speed, also pushed by the Lokomotive player.

Nice play. I see Devils legend Nikita Gusev. He’s looking like a better pick than Stillman.
This is not the highest bar.
I like Bardakov`s game. Of course if you watching the videos and believe that he is moving good. Some posters thinks he is moving very badly, so may be I` wrong here. (I don`t, but now after returning from injury he isn`t in his best shape definitely)

Gusev scores the shootout btw
