i think vegas 2023 1st is more valuable than anything Dallas will offer unless theyre in love with one of Dallas’ prospects. Or Kane prefers Dallas- lets hope.

I gotta say, I'll be pretty disappointed if we don't get Kane. Mainly because the other realistic options we can afford are not even close to his level. I feel if it's not him, we will be very underwhelmed by what Nill does instead, especially with guys like Bertuzzi off the trade block now too, and we definitely aren't trading for Meier

A guy like JVR for example just wouldn't be the answer for this team. Hes better than nothing but idk just super underwhelming

Weirdly enough, I don't think Kane's uptick in form will impact his trade value all that much. My big complaint about the trade deadline every year is you're always forced to pay for reputation and past performance.

I still think the cost will be a 1st + good prospect + another tertiary piece regardless of current form.

I think this is new ... at least I don't recall hearing it before, but Friedman mentioned the Oilers along with what we already have heard in Vegas and Dallas with Kane.

Not a mathematician, but how do the Oilers add Kane and Karlsson with 500k in TDL cap space :sarcasm:

They've talked about it a few times on the jeff marek show and the tone from Friedman is always the same. It's more something that intrigues Edmonton than it is something they're actively pursuing.

Horvat and O'Reilly have been traded. Toews is off the market. You think Faksa has a little bit more value at the deadline for a team desperate for a center?

Here's your Kane destination. Seems like the most predictable thing in the world

That was always going to happen. I don't see it changing anything.

I'm on board with trading for Chychrun. What would it take? Harley + Bourque? Or one of them + a 1st?

Sean gave a fair proposal.

Harley + 2024 1st rounder + 2024/2025 2nd rounder

I think someone beats it but not sure if it would be enough still.

I don't know that Arizona is interested in having money come back the other way right now. I think that was the hang-up in getting the deal done with LA.

They have to start putting a competitive product on the ice and they can't do that being a middleman for these salary retention deals.

Ya, I read that they only want prospects and picks. Kinda ridiculous when you're likely gonna have to trade him to a team that will have to send cap back. Just making it harder on yourself by forcing a third team to be involved as a place to dump salary.
