Yanks have a double dip tomorrow. Does he play both? He seems like he has hit a wall.

Jays up 5-1 in the 8th, game is in a rain delay.

Rays lose as they continue their ''strategic losing'' to secure the 3rd WC.

The Brewers trail 4-1 vs the D-Backs. Phils lead 1-0.

I am not surprised the Braves had a let down, the Marlins may be bad especially without Alcantara but they are mediocre enough to beat an AAAA pitcher and a hungover team that had to travel overnight.

I still have a bad feeling that we're going to have to rely on the Gnats winning a game in Flushing. Don't have Mets getting swept by the Cubs vibes yet but... who knows.

Congrats to the Phillies and their fans...and shame on the LAAAAAAAAAngels, who now hold the longest MLB playoff drought at 8 years, even though they employ the best player of the generation and a unicorn we haven't seen in a century.

EDIT: Just realized Detroit is also at 8 years.

You can’t convince me you’re really trying to win a game when Ernie Clement and Nick Allen are on the same side of the diamond.

Still trying to catch Washington.

too soon to give up on allen

longest playoff drought now belongs to the angels and tigers (no playoffs since 2014)

The Phillies have the 6th best record in baseball since Thomson took over on June 2nd. A game ahead of the Mets. 11.5 games behind the Braves and the Dodgers have been the best record.

I read that Nola is the only the second pitcher to have 230+ strikeouts and less than 30 walks in the season. Other time happened in the 1800s.

I don’t think he’ll ever have a major league bat. He isn’t great enough defensively to make up for that bat and invest in. He’s rebuild filler.

Jim Whitney, 1884 - 270 strikeouts and 27 walks, in 336 innings. It was an unusual year, though - that was the first year pitchers were allowed to throw overhand (yes, the first 13 years of professional baseball saw pitchers throw underhand).

Not only that, but six balls were required for a walk (eight had been required the previous season). This was not unusual - four balls to a walk was not the rule until 1889.
