Foligno came from a Columbus team with barely any playoff experience, that was a weird target, RoR is a playoff monster. He'll benefit being on a deeper team though, if they just use him as a pure defensive specialist in a 3C role which looks like what will happen considering they have Matthews and Tavares already, there really isn't many better options than him in that regards - he's Cirelli on roids.
I am concerned about the add too……but ROR is not Cirelli on roads at this stage of his career, Cirelli Is super defensively.

I really don't like the Leafs deal for us, cause it's a great deal for them for this run.

Agree with the opinions voiced on here that we really gotta upgrade from Names and PEBs. Barbashev would be a great add IMO, but would there be a way to extend him? (I think he could get back to a 60 points range production being a steady in our lineup) That's the only way I'd see JFBB go after him, a rental at a high price isn't our style.

Best case scenario would be to get Lafferty and Barbashev, but that would cost us a TON.

Those that are saying we should switch Cirelli and Paul…..I agree in principle. But we do have to acknowledge Cirellis recent production and the high level play of Hagel Cirelli and Killer together. Have to let it play out, maybe a better, faster winger with Paul will give the team a material bump on the 3rd line.

Not the specific signing but I’m still holding a grudge against Cooper for using him over Drouin in the finals.
Grit

Gud pro

Muh 200 foot game

Pucks in deep

Great locker room presence

Leadership

It was the funniest shit ever when Drouin almost immediately became like our best forward when Coop finally stopped dicking around with his minutes expecting the guy to be Palat and Cirelli

At some point we're just gonna have to accept that there's no big moves to be made and teams are just better and deeper than us. We had an amazing run but it happens - we've now entered back into the underdog phase.

Tampa, FL.
Lafferty and Bjugstad would be good. Low cost cap hits and fit well in the bottom 6. Lafferty is already signed through next year, and Bjugstad should.be able to be re-signed. They can easily fit as 3RW and 4C. Barbashev would be good as well, but neither he nor Bertuzzi are going to.likely re-sign given what Tampa could offer, and I'd rather not pay a high price for a straight rental.

Guess we’ll take Kane at 25%

Kane - Point - Kuch
Hagel - Cirelli - Stamkos
Killorn - Paul - Colton
Maroon - names - Perry
I hope that’s not even on the radar.he is terrible in the room had issues with the first two teams he was on in Buffalo particularly bad. Has he changed I doubt it. Cancer on and off the ice.

Yeah I'm good with someone like Kane. I don't know how the hell we're gonna do it but a Lafferty or Bertuzzi isn't gonna do anything for us. We will just be a little harder to play against and rely on out-defending our scoring problems. We're rolling Hagel-Point-Kucherov and "LMAO we'll just figure it out" on offense starring Stamkos getting stuck with our offensive leftovers

I know we get SoOo00oper excited winning 1-0 because #MuhStructure #MuhIdentity but if this team is going to continue to survive it needs to model itself into something similar to the Penguin team we ran into or at least something similar to what we were before we lost our entire 3rd line: a team that can roll scoring depth

Is our defense perfect? Not really. Hedman is a friggin mess. Is Vasy perfect? Yeah.... Not really. Not right now. He has bad games sometimes like anyone and I think he deserves a ton of slack for all the games he's won for us

Now, I'm thinking about teams sinking the hooks into us and we do not have our best game. Are we gonna win ANY game where we give up 3 goals?

HELL. NO

We're gonna have to kill 3 of the top 5 teams in the league just to even get back to the dance again. We can do our best to stick to our identity but Jesus Christ man we need a backup plan if whoever we're facing is up to the task of scoring on us

It doesn't have to be a perfect, textbook defensive win EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We need to be able to score as well as we defend and we're not bad at defending consistently. We just don't really score consistently

I can buy into this. Specifically this year. I dont see a team that we would face that has a spectacular defense - at least one head and shoulders better than ours.

If we can roll out these top three lines and dare teams to beat us I'd go for it:

Hagel - Point - Kucherov
Kane - Stamkos - Killorn
Paul - Cirelli - Colton

Biggest issue for me: is Kane healthy and can he skate in playoff hockey right now?

I dont think there's any way around this being awful news for us. Even if OReilly is just a good 3C these days (and he might be a lot better than that), that makes them match up a whole lot better against us.

Glad to see Foote is on the board. We must be poking around, checking prices.

Scoop: In recent weeks, the Lightning have perused the market for Foote, who has sat for long stretches this season as a healthy scratch.

might be a long shot but Matt Roy wouldnt be a bad pick up if a 3rd team would retain half that salary. would shore up the right side for next year relatively cheap as well

Tampa, FL.
Kane isn't needed. Offensive scoring isn't the issue, as Tampa has been 4th or 5th league wide in GF/G. They are at 3.5 atm, which is as good or better than any of their past few seasons(since '18-'19). The defense has dropped a bit, as they are around .1 to .2 worse this season in GA/G(2.87 vs 2.78, 2.59, and 2.77 the last 3 years), but acquiring better defensive F for the bottom 6 should help some with that. If they can acquire two of the many middle/bottom 6 options that have been listed here, they should be set(or one and a d-man). The top 6 has enough depth and scoring ability, provided Cooper finds the right mix. There's little reason to spend a.large chunk of the remaining assets the team.still has on a high priced ufa for one "all in" run(at least not yet).
