DoPS is usually pretty close with the suspensions they hand out (although there's many cases that don't even make it to the table), but this is a swing & a miss by a country mile. Should've been double that with Rinaldo's history.

Great move Tallon! 750K for a guy who might get 82points+

Dalé probably thought that he had to make moves in order to justify his presence and to show something tangible that separates him from Rowe's vision. Dale can be one bone headed stubborn sob.

March was the price to get rid of Smith. Either way, he's an UFA and would've been gone after this year because of the internal cap.
You guys love repeating this and making an excuse for Tallon when it's probably not true at all. Who cares if he's a UFA this year. Better to have a PPG player on a dirt cheap contract than not have a PPG player. We're probably in a playoff spot with March. And we could always trade his rights either at the trade deadline or in the offseason. Better than giving him away for free.

Funny that you Tallon apologists never said the same thing about Kulikov or Gudbranson when they were due raises and March is much more valuable than either of those guys.

You guys crying about an UFA like it was the worst thing happening to this organization is far more ridiculous. Yeah would've been nice to keep him but the ownership said no, we have a budget and can't gotta shed salary so he was the sweetener.

But yeah why not just blame Tallon for the internal cap too, fits the agenda.

Huh? He wasn't a UFA. He had another year left.

Tallon's choices under the internal cap are the problem.

Had to get rid of Smith's contract. March was the price.

All in line with how much cap space costs around the league.
Oh okay, back to this being the only and best move. No surprise everyone else around the league couldn't believe what we gave up and everyone immediately knew it was a mistake. Very similar reaction to the Bolland contract.

Bad analogy... Tallon may get hosed with UFA deals but not so with trades. If that was best he could do, I'll take that over anything you or anyone else on these boards think while armchair GM'ing.

It's spot on. Tallon makes poor decisions despite everyone else knowing it's an obvious bad move.

Right, he didn't get "hosed" at all giving a top 6 forward who will score 50-60 points and a guy who may score 80+ points for a 4th round pick. Great trade!

They weren't that last year as you well know. Smith has been up and down all his career and March had a breakthrough year and is an UFA next summer.

Again, if that was the price to shed salary then I'll take DT's experience over you guys yelling at a message board and saying how you would've done better.

Smith has always been a 40-50 point player.

March got his first real opportunity to play decent regular minutes and score 31 goals.

But yeah, give them away for a 4th.

Doesn't matter either if they weren't producing this year like last year. You can analyze a trade at the time it was made (obviously bad) and now (one of the worst in the franchise's history)

DT isn't a good GM.

Holy **** guys, we're on a 4 game winning streak & actually starting to play well and people still find the effort to ***** about the expansion draft?

Make a thread about it if it's still ruining your life on a daily basis. Hell, convert to become a Golden Knights fan if you can't move on from those players.

We're allowed to discuss other things, this is the news around the NHL thread. And it's funny that some of us had to put up with the crying about Gudbranson and Kulikov crying all last year when this is much worse.

By you saying this it's obvious that you have absolutely no concept of the cost of salary cap.
I know we got space back but I find it extremely hard to believe this was the only avenue but DT is our GM.

Rich statement considering we gave away a 30 goal scorer on a 750K contract. Giving away the best value in the league shows you have absolutely no concept of the cost of salary cap.
