What happened to Welinski? Looking at the lineups between games 1 and 2, it's as if Larsson took Welinski's spot in the lineup, but is there a specific reason for that?

None that's been communicated to the fans, that I've been able to find. Cooper is back in tonight, starting on the top pair with Theodore.

Gulls lead 1-0 after 1, looking much more effective tonight than last night's holding action. Two other apparent Gulls goals were waved off, one correctly in the first minute, as it only hit the inside of the post, even though the goalie judge was fooled and the light came on. Later in the period, the puck went in off Harry Z (?)'s backside and into the net, but the ref claimed it was hit by a high stick (though I certainly didn't see it that way.)

Kosilla's 2nd of the playoffs was created by some great puck possession work by Laganiere, who fed it across to a wide open Kosilla who had the entire net to lift it into.

I could be mistaken, but the Gulls may have dressed seven D-men.

Still 1-0 at the second intermission. Shots were 13-10 Reign, but again, much more zone possession for the Gulls than last night. The Reign came close a few times, bouncing one off the crossbar that got reviewed a full four minutes after it happened.

That was a fun one. Very chippy, nice pace, and the good guys won. Also nice to see a Megna goal, even if it was into an empty net.

Still a lot of room for improvement. Gulls passing has been terrible this whole series, which leads to a lot of unforced turnovers. Stressful to watch, though none wound up behind Hackett tonight.

Any reason they're taking four nights off between games?
Could be a building availability thing, combined with trying to maximize weekend games (more fans can make it out to those).

AHL games are more so on weekends anyways.

There's a great deal being offered for visiting fans who want to go to Ontario for Game Five on Saturdy night -- I just picked up two seats three rows from the glass, on the end the Gulls attack twice, for a total of $44 and all fees waived. Check out the San Diego Gulls Fans group on Facebook for the link and the code -- there was a nice-sized group of Gulls fans there on Sunday, it would be even better to have more next Saturday, especially if the Reign fans start to actually come out to the playoff games :)

Also, Gulls broadcaster Craig Elsten summarizes the first three games and previews the rest of the series (http://www.mighty1090.com/2016/05/10/gulls-look-to-even-playoff-series-with-reign/).

Also:

Aftermath of the puck to the mask that Hackett took in Game Two that caused him to have to go to the replacement mask...

It's good for NR to be scoring goals again...that dry spell he had with the ducks could really of hurt his development

I have to wonder how much of what we're seeing is inside Ritchie's head - he's seeming to me to have problems staying mentally focused game in and game out. How much of that is just the development of a player who isn't yet old even to drink in the US remains to be seen. I'm hoping he can get some maturity in over the off-season and come in next year with his head more right.

I'm going to Game 5 as well. So excited! :yo:

How is the arena in Ontario? From the pictures it looks really nice.

It was nice and empty for Games 1 and 3.

Naw, it's good. Cheap parking, a little local beer garden behind the opponent-shoots-twice end, and a ton of places to grab food near the arena. Arena's small enough that the views are good throughout.

I plan to be back for Game 5. Might hit up that deal HansH posted, thanks sir!

Fowler lived at Niedermayer`s, Ritchie needs to live at Kesler`s or Bieksa`s

If Ritchie would stay out of the box, he'd be a great player. But sometimes it seems that he spends more time in the box than playing.
