I looked out the window about maybe an hour or so ago and was surprised to see a blue sky, went out for a couple mins and it smelled kinda normal. Then within like 10 mins it was black to beige. I dunno if its dissipating or just getting pockets of good/bad air.

You didn't ask for it, but you're getting it - my take on extra-terrestrial life. If someone can give me a walking bass line...

Despite the odds, there still exists a chance there is no other intelligent life out there. Unless it is known, it is an unknown. 99.99% is still not 100%, probabilities be damned. Do I believe there is intelligent life out there? Not really, but it would not surprise me if it was discovered.

The King of the Hill Theory (I tell you hwut) says that some entity will, by and large, be the most superior. What if that entity was the human race? All of the prognostication, speculation, and wish fulfillment suggests there is intelligent life out there, and by default, MUST be much more advanced than Earth-bound civilizations. Why? We just may be the top dogs in the universe, but that doesn't make for a romantically-satisfying discovery among the tinfoil hat crowd.

As was mentioned upthread, the chances of hard evidence being leaked is much more prevalent these days with the advent of social media and media devices. I'd like to see some unassailable physical evidence - and multiple instances of such, not just a, "We found what looks like a laptop in King Tut's whacking room."

Look, I'm not going to clown anyone for believing in extra-terrestrial life. Chances are you are right and I am the knucklehead, but, I am a logic- and evidence-based person and leaps of faith aren't in my repertoire.

Flame on.
I remain agnostic mostly but lean as a believer due to my mom's experience...and I like Bohr's approach to shit that is unexplainable..

"Einstein and Bohr. Einstein liked inventing phrases such as "God does not play dice," "The Lord is subtle but not malicious." On one occasion Bohr answered, "Einstein, stop telling God what to do."

I believe Einstein used that "God does not play dice" quote in one of his early rejections of quantum mechanics and it's dependence on probabilities as opposed to certainties.

Anyone have any interest in a pair of tickets to the Luke Combs show on July 28th at the Linc?

They’re in the club level in the lower part of the section where it breaks so you’re on the aisle against the wall.

I bought a pair earlier during the verified presale but my brother got a set of four a little bit ago during the Eagles presale so just trying to get back what I paid.

Got it. Point is...we're not God and prognosticating like we can explain everything is hubris and a fool's errand. We can certainly try and progress depends on it but we should try to stay clear of claiming to know or explain away with certainty the mysteries of the universe and our existence. Why I try to remain mostly agnostic. Guess A.I. may eventually figure it out...

I'm no longer religious, nor do I believe in any current religions idea of God, but I don't know how anyone can definitely rule out a "Creator." We have no idea whatsoever what came before the Singularity that caused the Universe and all of its matter to expand into existence. It's possible the singularity was the remnants of a previous universe that, after billions of years, experienced the "big crunch" down into the singularity. If that is the case, who knows how long universes have been crunching and expanding over and over again? It's wild that we'll never have any of these answers.

Charles Hall, a nuclear physicist, ex-military American weather specialist and author are touring Australia with his claims that the United States military has been in contact with an alien species for years.

He says the aliens would dress as humans and visit Las Vegas.

In 1964, when I was a weather observer at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, I witnessed interactions between the military and a group of mysterious tall, white, human-like extraterrestrials, the Vietnam veteran said from his home in Albuquerque.

Their crafts are capable of travelling faster than the speed of light because Einstein was wrong about relativity.
Vietnan eh? they had some good drugs back then I'm told.

I saw my first UFO on 7/20/2018. Easy to remember the date because it was one day before my birthday. Large, metallic, and was shaped like an upside down triangle or cone. It was hovering still for a while but I was driving and couldn't take a picture. It then vanished before my eyes like it turned on a cloaking device or something. I pulled over but it was gone from sight. One other possible sighting since then but not as sure on that one.

Quantum foam isn't even theoretical anymore. Matter literally bubbles into and out of existence spontaneously.

So yeah, I can pretty comfortably say there is no creator.

I just want to ask the aliens how they came up with all that advanced technology while avoiding an AIpocalypse. I'd imagine they'd just say it's because they're smarter than us.

I also tend to take an agnostic approach to these types of things. Is it possible there is othe life out there? Sure. I've never seen anything personally that I could call a smoking gun, but I won't pretend to know one way or another. Maybe our Creator was aliens, like that Mission to Mars movie with Lt Dan. The aliens "seeded" (moneyshot) Earth, before leaving their dying planet. Ancient Anscestors lol

Was it Hawking that posited "aliens" could be A.I.? I know he said trying to contect them was not prudent since their intentions wouldn't necessarily be benign ...

Does it still count as being a whistleblower if he just keeps saying I heard that he said that she said
Yes, because Grusch has shared classified information with Congress.

Hopefully we have more answers by the weekend. The NYT is apparently going to publish a more thorough article and NewsNation will release the full interview with Grusch.

Also, country music is awesome. Luke Combs sucks, though
