I just don't see the point of being super down on the kid (and I stress kid here) when no one really knows what will happen. What is as disingenuous to me as being perhaps overly positive is being so overly sure that Senyshyn is a bust. If he turns out to be Brett Ritchie-esque at 25/26 then fair enough. He has some time yet.
One problem is he has a few contract extensions the Bruins need to give him before that point.

senyshyn can skate, and if anything the bruins need to beat toronto, tampa, & montreal once april comes around is
players who can skate. If they can skate with these teams they will beat them.

We need more than skating. Too many Khulmans is no different than when we have too many 3rd pairing defensemen so we trade Boychuk to make room for them.

The Bruins need multi dimensional players who can be elite at several aspects of the sport, not one.

Trying to track down his “upper body injury” and came across this from last week.

I’m fading on the fight game quick - this looks like horshit to me and on the back of the McCarron hit I’m left wondering WTF AHL

Agreed...As a one time believer of Senyshyn more is required than just skating (although a good asset)

I guess the brain trust has enough of my confidence at this point that I believe they know what they are doing with him.
This is what I believe also. Usually they developed a 2 way game on a prospect to complement the scoring. Like Pasta.
On players that have scoring and playmaking abilities like Marchand, they will develop a more complete 2 way game.
On players that can't make it alone on their scoring abilities nor the playmaking abilities they developed a more heavy 2 way game. Mostly bottom 6 players depending on how they round up their game. While the 2 way game is being developed players don't lose their abilities that got them drafted in the first place.

Do you see Senyshyn fit in any of the 3 categories above?

Fair enough- but it's not my money
Exactly, it's like a business. If you dont make enough to pay the bill, but really believe that maybe in 2 or 3 year it might be good enough to pay the bill's. You still need to pay the Bill's in the meantime.

In this case here, is it worth it to keep developing him? What would he be in another year or 2? At his development pace?

I still think if he puts it all together and embraces a checking line role he can be paille (which was my projection for him like 2 years ago). But he’s now looking like that may be his ceiling and in the few games I watched this year I didn’t see elite speed. In fact there was a sequence which I saw an at the time unidentified p-Bruin in a race for a puck and thought to myself “wow, that guy skates like he’s in quicksand.” I found out a few seconds later that it was senyshyn. Then the next shift he fanned from the slot.

He has the rest of the season, his contract is up this summer. So he is playing for his career right now.

My question, because I have not watched him in Providence this year so far, is if he is playing as his hockey career depends on it.

So is Cehlarik and Bjork.

Who gets a resign and contract slot with the Bruins going forward? You can only placeholder roster spots so long before you have to move on for the next generation of drafted players.

I'd say Senyshyn gets a contract after hes up. They won't let him walk for nothing. They've been developing him this long and it makes no sense.

Time will tell, but there is a definite time every fisherman has to cut bait. Too soon and you hurt the organization, same with waiting too long. It will be interesting to see if Zach makes that decision easy or difficult by seasons end.

If Sweeney didn’t think there was any potential left he would have cut bait already. As mentioned I don’t think there would be no reason to keep Senyshyn.

According to @Saxon Eric opinion, which i respect, he calls it the way he sees it. He has no problem saying when Senyshyn is off or plays well. Right now at this point Senyshyn's playing well. Although that was no mention of his name one way or the other in last game's report. Imo "playing well" in Senyshyn's D+5 season is a little underwhelming, specially playing in a career contract.

"B’s assistant general manager Scott Bradley. “He’s two, three or maybe four years [away from the NHL]"

Senyshen played at best 10- 12 minutes Tuesday night mostly on the 4th line ,did some PK work but not as much as normal,he was in a non-contact shirt the day before and missed the last game with an injury,he clearly wasn't 100% Tuesday night, that was obvious ,he had a few good plays, beating an icing call early was one of them but again ,limited minutes with an injury

Senyshyn is the type of player that could break into the NHL on the 4th line, he’s physical, gritty, forechecks and has speed. I’m not saying he’s the next Marchand, but I can see him starting on the forth, looking good and moving up from there.

Sucks how 2nd RW has been a glaring weakness for awhile now but he's still developing. Nice to see that physical shift that fits well in playoffs

It's time... I said this in the Providence thread as well but if Backes is out + Ritchie/Nordstrom:

Marchand -- Bergeron -- Pastrnak
DeBrusk -- Krejci -- Heinen
Bjork -- Coyle -- Senyshyn
Cehlarik -- Kuraly -- Wagner

I agree however one of Nords/Ritchie will be ready before next game unless bruins hold them back and give Senny an opportunity and/or send Cehlarik back down.

Yah not certain...you would think Nords is closer to a return.

I'd say Ritchie is, but who knows. With an infection, that can take a while. The fact they put Nordstrom on IR for this makes me believe he's going to be out a bit (I don't think super long, but I can't see him coming back next game).
