ehhhh I'd be iffy on this, I'd like to see him go after a cup on a true contender. If that meant joining a rival (except the Isles and Devils), so be it. But I'm not sure if the caps really fit the bill of contender so it would suck to see him suit up for Washington

But he'll likely be coming in cheap for whatever team he signs for so the Capitals keeping Holtby or getting Lundqvist isn't mutually exclusive
There is like what, 3-4 teams that might be more legit contenders in the league than the caps?
They still have the material, they didnt have the coach in the past couple years, hopefully they do now.

As a New York Ranger fan, Henrik Lundqvist has been (and will continue to be) my favorite NHL player. This still hurts, but I understand. I sincerely will be rooting for the Washington Capitals (just because I don’t feel NYR are SC contenders yet) to chase another cup, and have The Great Alex Ovechkin give The King, Henrik Lundqvist a cup.

This is going to be the best signing today by far. His stats were still excellent last season.

Great little deal, he still has something in the tank! I hope he finds some success in Washington!
