Accounting for a majority of your team’s offense makes you the mvp. If Kane carries Chicago to the playoffs it’s his same case with McDavid both are a lot more important and crucial to their teams than Kucherov is to Tampa succeeding. Compare Kane and McDavids point shares on their teams goals and compare them to Kucherovs. Kane accounts to 45%, McDavid accounts for 50%, Kucherov is 40%. He isn’t the most valuable to his team by default.Taking a crappy team that would otherwise finish 11th or 12th and squeaking them in at 8th seed shouldn't be the criteria for what "most valuable to his team" means. "Most valuable to his team" should also account for a player turning a 4th or 5th seed into a runaway top seed.
