Oh, so you can call it CHL vs MHL game. I'm glad, MHL doesn't look that shabby vs Canadian major junior leagues.

I don’t think you can call it CHL vs MHL but they are all the best 2003 born in Canada and there are a couple 2004.

I think Canada is doing pretty well since they have three teams instead of one like the others.

Didn't expect to still be on this thread.lol Semi is at 7pm EST. Sadly, it's not against Canada so it won't be on TSN. I was looking forward to a better broadcast. Luckily the Bronze and Gold games will be on TSN tomorrow so I can watch us battle for, most likely, Bronze.

Sweden was obviously a better team and we somehow beat them. Russia is also a better team. I'm assuming they beat us pretty handily. I'll cheer to the end!

I wonder how much the 10-1 clubbing of the Czechs helped the US players be all over this top 10? Have these guys scoring been spread out over the other, closer, games?

As American, does anyone know if the US-CanadaW game will still be streamed on the website or will it only be available on TSN (thus only available to people in Canada w/ TSN).

Should be able to get it on the hockeycanada website.
Yeah the Russia/Czech game will be streamed on the website, but unfortunately, since the US/CADW game is a real TSN2 broadcasted game they will not be streaming. Looks like the only way to watch is if you are in Canada and have TSN or TSN direct. Normally the TSN broadcasts for junior tourneys (U18 Worlds, etc) are also aired on the NHL Network in the US but I guess the U17 WHC isn't an important enough event to get NHLN airtime.

Here we go! Still not losing after a minute! Do the Czechs have another miracle? We're clearly the weakest of the final 4 but 'any given Sunday' and all...

PP coming up... for Russia. I'm not unhappy with how the Czechs are playing but, if I were Russian, I'd be really happy right now. Just slowly taking over every shift.

Czechs with a few chances... haven't seen much of this end of the rink.

Czechs had a real nice push at end of period... I'm not sure how threatened the Russian goalie felt or anything but Czech's looked good at end of period. 1-0 Russia is so much better than 5-0 Russia. Gives us a chance as the plucky underdogs.

Shots are 12-7 I think and game is halfover... Czechs have more shots. We've had some good chances. I was expecting Russia to open it up more and just burn us out with 4 strong(er) lines. I'd say keeping it close and not stretching their lead works more in the Czech favor than the Russian one.

Russia 2-0... shame as the Czechs have been better this period. Shots aren't very close. I'd say the Russians must be very content now... if we open up they counter.

Russia with their 4th powerplay... Czechs have had 0.
Referees haven't done us any favours against Sweden either.

The game itself is a snoozefest, as expected. Not many scoring chances on either side, Czechs had probably more, but complete lack of finish as usual.

It's definitely not a classic.

Curious if they can make this close in the 3rd... shots are 17-14 in our favor. One powerplay would be nice...

Well.. we got the powerplay and it was a nice one too. Didnt' score. Russian just scored a beauty goal (number 8) on us. I'm assuming that is the dagger. 14 minutes left.. 3 to zero for Russia

I thought we played well. Russia had better finishing and that may have been the difference. It certainly wasn't a blowout. I'm very excited for the Bronze Medal match on TSN tomorrow! I joked before this tourney began that I was hoping to finish better than 9th so a Bronze game is a real bonus.

Good luck to Canada Whtie with the US team. That, unlike this one, could be a classic!

Congrats to Russia... I think they are defending champs and look very good.

I think tonight's game shows that unless Canada sends its best team (read one team) the multiple teams will be at best only competitive and at worse, will be embarrassed. Its like watching a AA team play play a AAA team. Team White simply can't keep up with the USA team. If it isn't already obvious, the USA has caught up to Canada in producing high level talent. Perhaps they have even passed Canada.

I think it is better for this whole tournament if Canada can have only one team like rest of us. Add Switzerland and Slovakia/Germany.
