Reminds me of a few years ago when we went with Cam Ward in net. I don't know what people see in goalies like Ward or Smith. Complete and utter garbage.

Ain't that the truth. Masalskis is pretty much useless when it comes to a Regular Season (be that 50-something games in the KHL, as an example). Might mean that he'd be amazing in the playoffs which, the World Championship sorta is.
