Want to place a bet on that? If True North petitions the NHL for the Jets official history, they will receive it.

But why would they? TNSE likes to be a friendly business partner with the NHL and doesn't appear to want to rock the boat. Maybe if the Coyotes actually folded, but I don't see that happening. Thinking the all time leading scorer of the Houston Coyotes ;) will be Shane Doan, followed by Hawerchuk and Steen.

If the team does relocate to Houston, I hope they drop the Coyotes moniker and go with Aeros instead.

The only record I want from old Jets are Selanne's
The rest our current Jets are going to break.

Which one is going to score more than 353 goals in his first 8 seasons?
Which Jets team will have more than six 30 goal scorers?
There are plenty of team and individual records besides Selanne's to remember.

Don't the previous Jets have the record of being beaten
by biggest goal differential. I think 15-2 by Minnesota.
I may be wrong Just seem to remember that game setting some
kind of record.

I wonder what would happen if day the Montreal Canadiens were relocated to another city and they took all those records with them. Then one day the Habs return be it expansion or relocation and were told that you can’t have your history.
I wonder how that would go down with not only the fans in Montreal, but the fans of the NHL??

I for one don't care about "our history"...& to be clear I mean on paper.

That's what asterisks are for. The Jets had a WHA history so Winnipeg and asterisks are something fans already have a history of dealing with. It's something the next generation of Jets fans can now share with us.

As displayed in this thread @cheswick has already tallied our NHL numbers for us & I'm sure local & national media will do the same whenever the opportunity presents for a record is broken.

Winnipeg's NHL numbers are all still attributed to our city on nhl.com where one can sort by Winnipeg Jets (1979)

I saw this as well. Lots of continuity problems since the Sharks didn't exist, the Jets didn't wear white on the road, there was no Jet that wore #80 until Antropov in the 2.0 days & Tim Kerr played RW not LW.

Biggest problem was referring to Tim Kerr as a good skater when his career was defined standing as an immovable presence in the slot.
