WINDSOR
Stevenson and Robinson better be stellar. Zito, one of your hopefully future stars not learning much getting to ride the pine again. Rupoli probably wondering why I play well and rewarded with a big fat scratch. Welcome to TL lol.

WINDSOR
Just announced Finland expects to carry all 3 goalies for the WJC. If Finland goes deep in the tournament, they state Kari could miss 14 games with travel time. Oh boy, season total and whether we're buyers or sellers probably rests on Medina during this stretch.

First, hoping the Niagara goaltender is OK and recovers. For all the differences fans have all fans come together to show their support things like this happen. The hockey world is thinking of him.

Tonight's game.

Don't know what to say.

Medina looked a bit nervous to start, to be expected when you sit for a bit but he seemed to settle down as the game went on.

The rest of the team?

Most had some bright spots, most had some struggles. It was one of those games where just enough went wrong to come out on the losing side/not enough went right to win it.

Some of the players are looking frustrated with things not going the way they were.

Tough loss to a Saginaw team missing a lot of top players. Off to Guelph where they can hopefully take advantage of their missing starter.

I would have to agree with this. Zito is most likely going to be the star of this team. I also agree that he won’t get any better or learn anything by not playing and getting ice time. I also agree that Rupoli played well and is rewarded by sitting out. Coach needs to figure it out. As a coach you need to play your best players and put them in the best position to succeed.

The recent stretch of games has been important. This team isn’t good enough to make it past the second round this year.

So, Windsor should sell whatever assets that won’t return and go for it next year and the years ensuing.

Coach has no clue!

Windsor with the loss but gained a point. Need all they can get.
Windsor played maybe half a game again.
There r individuals on this team that should be a told this is a team sport.
Trevor putting the same vets out too much. Not having the young kids play .
Pp just awful. Was hearing booing from crowd. They couldn't get it in the spirit zone with control for at least 2 of the pp.
Letting your opponent score right after u score must be windsor hockey. It happens so often.
Nice use of the time out coach. That sure worked keeping i think angle on the ice more. Only to have the spirit go down thr ice n get a favorable call to win the game. Great coaching!
3300 n so at game. Small crowd for a division game.

Game notes - looking a little dysfunctional right now. losing does that to teams.

McDonald - liked his play and forecheck last night. Just need to practice getting the shots on net. He had opportunities and maybe one of those might have gone in but you have to get them on net to know for sure.

Team as a whole was not strong on the puck. Saginaw wanted it more and beat Windsor in most puck battles. Teams are getting better now and you just can"t coast to a win. You have to win the puck battles for 60 minutes or you are on the losing side most nights if you can't win in the trenches.

Medina - needs to take the games more seriously, way to casual out there. Needs to super focus on every play.

Lost 4 out of 5 now so they are settling back to where most thought they would be. Takes the threat of going for it out of the equation.

Guelph is a good team so Medina and company need to dial in for this one.

That PP in the 3rd encapsulated their struggles. Foudy 3 separate times tries to enter the zone by himself seemingly and either coughs up the puck or makes a poor pass.

The weird thing about the PP is that it's either golden or nothing. They're tops in the league (coming into last night) at around 30%. That means they're doing something right. However, Saginaw scouted them well. Now, they have to find a way to adjust.

Adjust. Hahaha. Their entry has been brutal for over a month. Imagine how good pp could be if they didn’t waste between 15-45 sec just trying to get in the zone. The drop back pass has rarely ever worked. They will drop puck back and then dump it in sometimes which makes no sense since everyone is standing still waiting.

Windsor heads into Guelph tonight in need of a big game.

Guelph won't have Dawes in goal so that's one thing in their favour but the rest is up to them.

Losing 4 out of 5 is one thing, how they've played for most of those games is another. This is becoming a repeat of what we've seen before, a lack of consistency from the team as a whole.

We know they have the ability to score but we also know as individuals there's been past issues with consistency when it comes to scoring. The problem at times last year and now this year is when one player is scoring they're all scoring to one extent or another but when one goes cold they all go cold.

Time to get focused, start playing 60 minutes more than once every few games. Most don't have illusions of a championship run this year but there still needs to be expectations that they play better.

It's been said this is a tight group this year. At times it looks that way at times not so much. One player having a bad game a tight group works through it together, they don't all have bad games and lately they've all been having bad games to one extent or another, with only a few exceptions.

Time to get their **** together or time to make some changes.

I said last season this is a team with major differences in skill sets and it's still the same team that had a solid streak for a month and not much more.

This is a 5th/6th place team sitting in 5th that could be pushing for 7th if they continue as they are or heading back towards 3rd if they get it together before the break.

What's it going to?

With a point last night we still have a shot at 5/6 this weekend. Will they roll the dice with Medina in all 3 games or give Tovell a start vs the Guelph backup. Tonight has the makings of a high scoring affair.
