I said it in a similar poll I started a week ago. I see this series going the full 5 and due to there really being no home ice advantage, so long as Igor outplays Mrazek which he should, I see us beating Carolina and advancing.

Mrazek is dangerous tho as he goes into these zones where he's very very good. We need to hope our offense can keep him from getting too much confidence. I like our chances despite how good Carolina is!!

We obviously have a better shot of getting the first overall pick than winning the Stanley Cup this year. I rather have that shot at first overall because holy hell this team will look dangerous if we add Laf. That said, I will still root for the Rangers to win because 1) it sucks to root for them to lose and 2) it has no impact on how they play.

I voted win, but I’ll be honest and say I won’t be upset if we lose.
I honestly don’t mind either situation, either. But if I had a preference, as much as it f***ing pains me...

Gimme a shot at Laf. We won’t see an opportunity of drafting a prospect like him for a very long time.

Just got out and play hard and whatever happens happens. Canes are a very good team (albeit average goaltending). If we lose the play in and get Laff great if not we could pick 10-13 range and who knows maybe a Raymond or Lundell drops. As long as we avoid any more Lias fiascos we should be in very good shape present and future.

Sorry if it’s a dumb question since it’s 1:30 am but if we lose play in and a final place holder team jumps us and wins the lottery does it mean we drop another spot lower in picking?

Here's how I look at it:

The Casino unexpectedly grabbed us by the lapels and threw us inside and handed us free money to play for an hour. Even if we bust out and leave after the hour, on the way out the Casino gives us a free spin on the roulette wheel and gives us free chips to place on 4 numbers. If we lose the spin as well, we walk out with a hell of an experience and no worse than if we never went in. And if we win the spin of the wheel, it's franchise changing. So I would rather have fun and lose and spin the wheel on the way out than win and end up in the VIP suite playing poker with players MUCH, MUCH better than me and end up losing more than what I was originally given free to play.

Are they going to win the cup ? No
So take the 12.5 percent chance at 1
Only ok thing is if TO and Carolina lose the other pick is descent but if they win it can fall

Voted lose

This season ended in March for me, I don’t care what happens in the playoffs.

I’ll take the 12.5% chance to win Lafreniere than the <5% chance this team wins 5 rounds of hockey to claim a pandemic cup

I’d also be fine with the season just being canceled due to rising positive results. Either way the team gets a shot at winning

Playoffs in hockey are pretty random and this years will be especially so. I’ll take the ~1/16 chance at a cup over the ~1/8 chance at lafranierre
