Line Combos: Who's out when Frattin, Lupul AND Gardiner come back?

We'd lose Kostka and he's a useful guy

I know I'm not alone here when I say: What's the issue here?

He's not an upgrade over Liles. We'd lose an AHL defenseman - oh well we've got tons.

It's unfortunate, because it won't happen. Carlyle will keep Kostka up.

He's a decent player, good cap hit, plays hard...... someone would grab him in a second. I wouldn't take a chance right now. Send Holzer down, waive Steckel and hope we stay healthy

Then put JVR at center and Bozak as a 4th line FO specialist.

I'm with you - I wouldn't mourn the loss of Kostka at all.

Great story, but fundamentally replaceable.

Are you implying JVR only wins 5% of faceoffs? Because the stats for this year says he wins 68.4%. I understand it will drop as he takes more, but exaggerations do nothing for your argument.

JVR has taken 19 faceoffs and lost 6,not a huge sample, but shows he has some sort of ability. But hey, you keep up the hyperbole, really brings out the genius behind the keyboard.

Do you like the Leafs lineup the way it is now? Would you change it in anyway? What if JVR or Kessel went down with an injury what would our lineup look like?

For the most part I like the lineup, I'd make a few tweaks though. I'd pull Kostka out, put Gardiner in that spot and I'd also unload Liles for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Up front, I would wait until the deadline, if Kadri keeps up his pace then I unload Grabo to the first sucker that comes along.

thing is they have a lot of talent behind those guys, we aren't so lucky at this point (and different for a forward and D imo)

Yes. Not sure why the Gunnarsson-Phaneuf pairing hasn't been revisited...Holzer is not ready for top pairing.

No, I'll acknowledge that my opinion on the best line up is probably not as good as a Stanley Cup winning coach that spends every day with the team and currently has my favorite team sitting in 6th place in the entire NHL.
