If/when Germany is eliminated I'm rooting for Messi, a first-time winner, or whichever team plays the most brave/attractive football. Can't say now which of those three factors will be strongest.

I hope Qatar lifts the trophy as a morale boost for the ruling family, who have been so unfairly maligned a lot in spite of their near superhuman efforts to make this tournament possible.

Also, this will be my last post here for a while as I'm leaving tomorrow to tour the Mediterranean on my brand new 100 ft yacht.
