But isn't that coachable? Shouldn't that be something that an NHL head coach should be able to correct? You can't teach his scoring or shooting ability.

You're correct that you can't teach that release. But as for the other stuff, I'd assume they'd been coaching him up and telling him what they expected from him before he got moved and that them literally giving up on him was them realizing that he wasn't going to do what they wanted. He'd become too comfortable and assumed he had earned a spot and only worked hard when he wanted. That's really hard to see from a young guy. That sense of entitlement for very little NHL level production.

This will put sweeney on the map

No way do I trade Vaak++ for a guy that’s definitely a pure rental. I changed my mind about Panarin since he’s probably going to Florida. Kovalchuk is still a top 6 player that won’t cost any major assets. Stone is also an interesting name that I hope Sweeney is looking into.

I'd do it in a second. Can always draft another guy like Vaak +++. Go big or dont waste resources like another 1st on another aging player like Nash. Kovalchuk I'd take for sure

You make it sound easy to draft a guy like Vaakanainen, but during the Chiarelli years we never drafted any defensemen close to as good as him except the obvious choice in Hamilton and even that blew up in the Bruins face.

Chara is close to done and even if they keep Krug and Grzelcyk, neither is a solid number one.

If its Panarin I'm selling. Not anyone else.

Rumor is the price is extremely high. What if Columbus asked for Debrusk, Vaakanainen and a 1st?

Thought we were talking about Vaak. Vaak I don't care. Not trying to create another hole in the top 6. I just want 1 more cup with this core after that draft and delevop till the cows come home.

I think they’d want more than Vaak, I was just saying I don’t want to see him traded for a rental anymore. I saw a tweet today that said something like the Bruins and Preds were surprised at how much Columbus was asking. I’m guessing they’d want some roster talent since they’re a playoff team right now.

Agree. Vaak might be the best bruins Dman in about 3 years.

I believe he answers your Question right around 5:20 mark
Jarmo Kekalainen will trade Panarin regardless of the standings – It all depends on the price

Really? I think he looked like the best D-Man in the world juniors tournament. His defensive game is so good.

I think at some point you have to cash in. I've heard over the last few years of donnys drafting that every Bruins prospect is the best ever however right now there isnt a HR player we should not consider trading

Vaakanainen looked terrific in Boston before he got KO'd. Like I have no question he could be a good NHL regular right now. He's not a guy still trying to find his game like a JFK, Donato, or Zboril. He's ready IMO.

I agree with the sentiment that Sweeney should be willing to move any of the kids in the right deal, but Vaak IMO is a significant cut above the rest of that pack.
