Firing Claude without canning Chiarelli would be.... strange as hell. Most of us know that the mess falls on Chiarelli/players well before Claude. Firing the coach would be the easy way out; a cosmetic change that doesn't resolve anything. Fans and writers won't be that blind....

Agreed.

It would be no different than a guy building a house with rotted wood and then allowing him to cover it with a new coat of paint.

Keep:
Bergeron
Hamilton
Pastrnak
Chara
Lucic
Marchand
Rask
Krug
Krejci

Get players that play to the Boston Bruins identity. I still think the core is strong regardless to what others say.

Next Year:
Lucic-Krejci-Pastrnak
Marchand-Bergeron-Connolly
()-Spooner-()
Talbot-()-()

Chara-Hamilton
Krug-()
Morrow-McQuaid
Miller

Look to move: Smith, Eriksson, Kelly, and Seidenberg.

Look to acquire:
Dion Phaneuf
Zack Kassian
Steve Downie

All play a bruising style, that fit our identity. This team will be a contender next year. Without a doubt in my mind.

I like all of this if Toronto keeps part of Phaneuf's salary. As a 3/4 Phaneuf would be a big upgrade.

The name missing that I would add, yup, Chris Stewart.

They need to bring in speed, grit and leadership.

Getting McDavid would help, but even at 12-14 in the draft they should get a solid prospect who may be able to step in next year.

There is a solid core here, a new, good GM will help put this back together quickly. I won't miss Chiarelli's annual snarky press conference after failing the trade deadline.

Chia and Claude must go. Best GM/Coach combo in Bruins history but there time is up in Boston. Seguin trade solidifies this.

This team cannot score goals as was clearly evident in the loss to the Panthers.

New GM needs to make a bold statement, Jim Nill type move and go hard after Hall.

Lucic + Subban + 2016 1st for Taylor Hall

Dennis Seidenberg to Vancouver for 2nd or 3rd

Kelly to Nashville for a 3rd

Let Soderberg, Campbell Bartkowsi, Paille, and Svedberg walk.

Re-sign McQuaid

Hall/Krejci/Connolly

Marchand/Bergeron/Pastrnak

Smith/Spooner/Eriksson

Talbot/Koko/Ferlin

Chara/Hamilton
Krug/McQuaid
Trotman/Miller
Morrow

And for the love of God, acquire or sign a very capable back-up goalie please. 70 games for any goalie is way too many.

Do some of you guys realize that other teams have pro scouts and that other GM's watch video? They see what we see.

Many (not all) trash some of our struggling, past prime guys (Seidenburg, Chara, Kelly, Paille etcetera) then in the next sentence say "Trade them for a second (or whatever)......" Let's be realistic

Peter Chiarelli works for the Bruins not the Av's unfortunately other GM's I'm sure would not give us Stewart and 2 firsts for Seidenburg as an example.

Seriously, someone said Seidenburg for a second, only and I mean only if Chiarelli was on the other side of the deal would that happen

What's your ideal situation?

I'm agenda driven but once you get past that

1. Chiarelli & Claude are let go with lots of love and left over years to keep them wealthy- thank you but time to move on

2. Don Sweeney named GM

3. Sweeney promotes Pandolfo to his position and fires Cassidy while making Kevin Dean the Providence coach

4 Sweeney retains Bradley and Gretzky and hopefully Ferguson if he believed he did not jump to Chiarelli camp

5. They hire a coach who's premise is 'uptempo physical hockey with a defensive respondibility' and not more back pressure - clog the middle 'lets win 0-0'

I like Dineen because that's how he played and hear he's a super guy and is a positive upbeat no excuse guy

I like Dineen. Interesting.. How about Tocchet brought on as assistant?????
I'd really like to see Ramsey brought back onto the bench in some form

I don't think I could handle two of my top 10 all time favorite players on the Bruins coaching staff at the same time. I have zero idea on Neely and Dineen relationship but pretty confident Neely and Tocchet are friends and maybe even very good at that

Atleast if the team is soft our coaching staff could win an elevator fight

Keep Bergy, and Tuukka, and everyone 23 and younger.
Get what you can for everyone else.

Fire everyone from coaching and management that can be fired.

Familiarity and since he showed up in mid 80's he's been nothing but professional and played the game the right way

He is exactly the way I'd want my kid to play- hard, tough, clean, responsible

Super nice off the ice

Bright

Lives here 30 years - he's not an outsider

Knows the players - he could tell you what Spooner likes to eat

Works well with Cam

To me it's such a match other than Gorton I'd consider no one else

And his degree is in economics

I can tell u the hockey folks I know really respect and like him- I'm talking broad scope

They're in a situation where the right choices at GM and coach can mean the difference between falling further or turning this around quickly. They could be right back into contention next year.

Most important- Fire Julien. This team has tuned him out.
Chairelli-I think he is fired as well-( too loyal to his players and pays top salary with NTC's-- appoint Don Sweeney as our new GM
Joe Sacco and John Fergerson need to be fired!

Player decisions:
a) Philosophy- This team needs to acquire some natural scorers. They also need to inject some speed and toughness.

b) Decisions- Do you keep Krecji? 7m Lucic? 6m Chara?7m Seids 4m? Kelly 3m?

c) Build a new core

d) Keepers: Forwards: Bergeron-Marchand-Connolly-Smith- Spooner-Pasta- Koko

Defense: Hamilton- Krug-Trotman- Morrow-

Goalies:Rask

How the heck can any posters on this board possibly have the expertise or knowledge necessary to evaluate the work product of Ferguson and Sacco? You're not in the room with them.

At least with Claude we can see his decisions regarding lines and lineup and ice time, and as head coach, there's a certain accountability expected--the buck stops here.

But Sacco and Ferguson? How about Jarvis and Houda? Do they suck too?
