Montreal seems close to being on a rebuild. Canucks and Devils seem to be just starting the rebuild process. Leafs have done a very good job at rebuilding very quickly. The Jets seem to be well stocked ready for a breakout.

Damn I don't remember it being this bad for Montreal. What are they doing?
They're preparing to win the division for the 4th time in the last 6 years.
Vancouver should be but isn't.
Montreal is long overdue. Maybe the sharks as well
Rebuild doesn't simply mean toss young players in and hope for the best.
really? it just took 10 years.
They may not be as tragic as people are making them out to be but the Atlantic hasn't exactly been much of a difficult division since realignment.
They're also the team that relies so heavily on one singular player so much that it seems silly to be defensive when people comment that they're one injury to Price away from being in the basement.
While Price is amazing and important to the success of this team the whole Habs are nothing without Price narrative is getting old, to be honest.
The team is playing solid hockey in front of him, he doesn't need to singlehandedly win them games every second night or stand on his head because we're getting dominated and the only chance to win the game is if he makes 50 saves. He just needs to be solid out there and nothing more.
Montoya has roughly the same SV% this year as Carey if not for that 10:0 embarrassment.
The Kessel trade wasn't even 10 years ago. You're including that time under Burke?
Just because they were missing the playoffs does not mean they were rebuilding. It started only 2 years ago.
What the other poster is saying is that the Leafs didn't start from scratch 2 years ago...There was a platform already in place to build on..Kadri,Reilly,(plus support players JVR,Gardiner,Bozak).
The problem is that season he got hurt proved the theory right, So it's not going away anytime soon. We've seen them without Price. They were a bottom feeder (29th actually after his injury).

Condon played under .900 in that awful stretch. Not really blaming the guy as he was not supposed to be in that chair but that team makes the playoff with a middle-of-the-road starter.
The Flyers are rebuilding without tanking.
The last 3 years, have drafted 9, 10, 9 picks and already have 10 for next year.
2015 two 1st rounders
2016 1st, and three 2nd rounders
2017 two 1st rounders, 2nd Rd pick
2018 currently have two 1st rounders already
Hextall has been adding lots of picks and using them to move up in drafts to get guys he wants. He has had 9 1st or 2nd Rd picks the last 3 years and 3 more for next year. And 7 off them have been used on forwards to complement the upcoming D and G pipeline that has been built.
Looking forward to 2018 strong draft and adding another D and another F to the mix.
Yeah the team that just won the division and locked down price is headed for a rebuild. Knew I would see the Habs in here , not surprising for the main board .
LA, DET, VAN, SJ need to go full rebuild mode
Not that Canucks are inspiring me of doing the right thing but how is losing the lottery two years in a row (when we should have picked 3OA and 2OA respectively) robbing ourselves of higher and better picks.
Just to put how ridiculous the new lottery rules are: the Leafs are the only team since the 2010 Oilers to win the lottery as the worst team in the league.
Nobody should be in a complete rebuild.
Teams that tear it down stay tearing it down for the next decade, unless they draft a generational talent by accident.
