I haven't read through all the posts, because I'm lazy...but was anyone else completely perplexed power play combination Hynes ran out there at first at the end of the game?

At one point, 4 of th 5 guys on the ice were Zajac, Palms, Boyle and Zacha. That seems like a really bad combination...

I said it lol. If you get a chance to go back and look you'll see it.

You're down a goal with just under 3 mins left. You don't have Hischier and Bratt on your top unit, and you don't pull the goalie to get a 6-4 advantage? that is extremely bad coaching.

eh they were the much better team in the second

I know. They owned us. That was a shot at us, not vegas. Vegas played like crap for what they are capable of and still killed us. The score didn't really reflect how much the ice was tilted.

Good game???

For whom because the entire team, except maybe Lovejoy was total ass.

I thought the entire defense played pretty darn well. You can't fault them for goal 1 which was a brutal Zacha turnover. Goal 2 was bizarre although I wish someone would try to push Carpenter out of the way. Goal 3 was a bizarre deflection off Pacioretty beside the net.

The entire defensive corps played well. Need more from the forwards

''Blah blah blah. There aren't 20 goalies in the league better than Kinkaid. Blah blah blah. If you took out the good team's, his save percentage would be .916%, blah blah blah. The team has faced too tough of competition, blah blah blah. Lundqvist is awful, blah blah blah''.

yo lundqvist sucks

I am as disappointed as anyone about how this season has played out but so many just can't give the Devils credit for playing Vegas tough on the road. It was a 1 goal game for f*** sake

And we extended the moron behind the bench who's defensive system is a joke and who's assistant coaches he hired are ****ing garbage.

Hynes is giving way too much time to the bottom lines. Hes a moron.

I really look foward to is an NHL coaching staff.

This team just sucks, this season just sucks. Shero deserves criticism for this garbage that is being iced, yet he wont get it. Hynes deserves criticism and didnt deserve the extension he was given since his system sucks and he never adjusts to other teams adjusting to the Devils.

5 road wins gets you an extension from Ray Shero.

Gotta love 4 lines Hynes. Just keeps rolling out all 4 lines while down a goal.

4 years in the NHL coaching and our dumb **** coach still has no clue when to pull the goalie.

Why can't the Devils get a LITTLE bit of credit from you? They played a decent road game against one of the best home teams in the league

I give credit when it's due. I'll admit the top line had a decent game. The rest were not good and couldn't take advantage of playing a garbage goalie and a good team that played a bad game for what they are capable of. I know this team can do more. Even with Hall out. But this team has 2 speeds this year: A competent, decent looking team or dumpster fire. The game only seemed close because Vegas played like garbage and their goalie has no right being in the NHL.

Subban had a solid 3rd period including a couple of deflection saves in close. The one on Bratt was as good as it gets

Yes you can. Greene could've stopped that from ever happening but had horrible positioning, par for the course with him this year.

We haven't been celebrating moral victories for the past month and a half?

No because then we had a sliver(however slight) of hope of getting back into the Playoff race but we had to put on a hell of a run.

If we won tonight, hope would remain.

Now it's all gone.

So NOW we can all go give out Participation Trophies to all the children. Yay. :eviltongu

Not a chance I'm pinning that on Greene when Zacha gave the puck to Reaves just inside the blue line

That is on all 3 players involved on that goal againt. Zacha for a bad pass, Greene for atrocious defense, and Kinkaid for letting it trickle through. It can be more than just one person at fault for a goal against.

Absolute garbage. I'll give you that Keith would want that one back as it wasn't a good shot at all but I'm not riding Greene for that. Am I nuts here?

Fine, be in denial about him also being at fault. doesnt change it from being a fact and that it happened and they scored there.

Palmieri in that shooting spot at the top of the circle on the PP makes me cringe. He's not creative enough to run a PP - you know he's going to just shoot it and score every 10th try.

I don't understand why he isn't slotted on his off-wing in the shooting spot. Just have Butcher/Nico feed him one-timers.
