Hyman played an awesome game. Rest of the Leafs either got smothered or sucked.

Thought Hainsey has been awful for a while but was particularly bad tonight in the most important game.

Tough loss, feels bad but its 1 game, we have to be better on Saturday. No margin of error against Boston.

If Babcock had challenged that first Boston goal this would be different. 4th line was trash and Kadri fell into the Bruins trap. Komarov and Johnsson should be switched. We were good in the second half of the first and the second oeriod because we were skating amd lost the jitters.

Matthews, Nylander invisible, Marner missing a gaping wide open net.

Played like utter garbage in first 10 minutes.

Babcock putting 4th line against their 1st line. If they lose game 2 I can't see this team coming out of a 0-2 series hole.

Played with the intensity of a regular season game in November for parts of the game.

Despicable, gag worthy effort.

Matt Martin has to come in. That fourth line needs to stir some **** up. I am not a fan of fighting, but today was disgraceful at how bad we were outplayed.

We need some "truculence".

I can't believe I am gonna say this, but Burke was right. You need truculence on the team. The issue was, that should not have been the base of making your team, that should have been the cherry on top of your cake.

Played right into Boston's game plan
Schooled

Exactly. The game looked like the Bruins chalk board. Big guns neutralized and abused, plausible deniability dirty plays on our talented players and their veterans came through.

The lack of capitalizing on the early powerplays cost us and the Backes PP garbage goal was too much of a momentum shift for the kids to handle.

Coaching bad.

Matthews coasted around like it was a Love Boat cruise.

Nylander on a Magical Mystery Tour.

Many Gud Pros™, many f*** ups.

Hainsey needs to retire.

Plecanek still playing for MTL.

Hyman best player, which is bad.

Kadri the only f***ing one with any heart.

First round exit coming up.

Rielly played 18:23 tonight, with only 25 secs on the PK.

Is there a reason why hes not allowed to be on the PK? Hes literally our best D man. He played the second least tonight.

Just another bizarre choice by Babcock.

Babcock would rather have Hainsey kill all 2 mins than have Rielly kill 30 secs - 1min.

Someone please explain this to me.

Maybe next year Babs will treat our best players like our best players instead of continuing to hold them back.

Maybe this is the wake up call we need. Almost rather get beat 5-1 than 3-1, because maybe it will light more of a fire, and get Boston a little over confident. If we can split the first two games, we are in great shape.

Leafs thought they could play like they did in the regular season, Boston elevated to playoff hockey. We elevate next game and were good to go.

So it won't be a sweep, big deal.

The Bruins are an absolutely relentless and intense team. They never seem to take a shift off and are just constantly on top of our players on the forecheck and seemingly always have support in the right areas. The Leafs just straight up didn't match that kind of intensity and consistent effort tonight. Got overwhelmed and slowly broken down as the game went on. Still plenty of time but we need adjustments for Saturday.

Rebuild hit a snag again.

The overrated Nylander is a ghost again.

Babcock in over his head with awful coaching decisions and the GM does nothing to address the needs to the team.

Good night.
well good night to u 2 for game 2 pls.go watch the sabres..bye

The same reason we can't double shift JVR or Mitch with Matty and Willy on the PP.

Gud lines, Babcock's an NHL coach and we're not, gritty vets etc etc.

This had better not be Matthews vs teams like Boston. Seriously he needs to be physical, no option. Nylander same, Marner was the least scared star we have. Marner, yeah... Nylander Matthews Marleau and Kadri should be ashamed. Kadri for losing it even if deserved. He got rattled. Bozak showed some actual grit and JVR was neutralized. Pleks, looking at the puck?? Really??

Komarov and Polak should not even be on the team right now.
