lol the 2010 team was incredibly aggressive on the forecheck. The 2013 team was agressive on D. This team just stands around.

I liked what Versteeg brought tonight. Some flailing, circular skating, a few falls. He was nails.

And Nordstrom at -2 for 6 minutes, in a game in which the team gave up just 2 goals. He added an element of solid play that can't be overstated.

This is only funny because it's true. :(

You're wringing your hands over 3rd liners. Our top guys aren't putting the puck in the net. We're getting outworked almost to a man, and their goalie has been a freaking wall.

Maybe they're better. Maybe it's a long series and there will be ebbs and flows.

So all 3rd liners are created equal or you're trying to ice the most optimal lineup...which one?

Not sure how you're understating the importance of the bottom six when the fourth line literally won us the last game. It absolutely matters.

Kind of funny how Nordstrom was no where near where he was supposed to be on the game winner. Thanks Joel

Nonsense. The Ducks are deep and coming in waves. Give the other team some credit.

The Blackhawks had four lines, and were at least drawing even with the Ducks if not actually out-playing them.

The one line that was getting caved in every game, the 2nd line, went untouched. Instead he kneecapped this team by crippling the bottom 2 lines, ensuring we had none of the four-line attack we saw through the last 6 games.

It takes a genuine ****ing ****** to take a lineup that has won 5 of the last 6 playoff games, and pointlessly undermine it by taking skill OUT of the lineup in favor of what? Kris Versteeg? ****ing terrible. Nordstom? Brings nothing and played six whole minutes.

Joel Quenneville is a ****ing ******.

Yep, he did but looking at the series he's not himself. His decisions on the PP's in the 1st. All the damn turnovers.

Even the goal was a busted play.

None of these guys look like themselves. Except Teuvo, that is, who looks like an incredibly smart and creative hockey player.

Hoping to see some different lines for Game 4. 5 goals in almost 12 periods isnt acceptable.

Game 4 is a must win too

A PP goal for them was the difference. You can't go 0/5 or whatever when you have a double minor plus 4 others.

Now that's a good point.

I want to know what happened to Hossa's shot. Where did it go?

I have no idea. But he always does that freaking slap shot that slides the puck along the ice and never lifts it higher than the goalie's chest, and that's a rare occurrence.

Our fourth line was a big reason why we won the last game.

This is two evenly matched prizefighters going at it only one took a baseball bat to the kneecap and you're arguing he should have kept his gloves up more in the third round.

You took a good third line and made it *******. You need that third line to be at least a threat. Q Fail. I wish cold steel was here. There are no apologies for the fiasco of tonight's roster selection.

There's a lot of truth here. Tuevo was playing with more confidence and calm than Saad, Sharp, Hossa, Kane or Bickell.

The biggest problem is not having C depth, which is why it's silly anyone **** on the Vermette trade. Who was complaining about the trade after three games and is not complaining about him not being in?

Yep.

The game just turned on Hossa not scoring on that power play when he should have. If he had scored there, no Hossa penalty, no Ducks power play goal... game could be a much different story.

Also, Sharp can feel free to extend his series streak with at least one goal scored at any time.

Ducks might be the better team, yes. We may have lost this game anyway without the lineup changes, yes. But to change the lineup that has won 5 of 6 playoff games, to break up the best line you had the first 2 games, the one that scored the game winning goal in game 2, and to do all that to bring in two stiffs in Versteeg and Nordstrom is beyond an explanation. Nordstrom was on the ice for both of their goals in limited minutes, you made the substitution and only played him SIX MINUTES. Good one Q ball!

You have to give yourself the best chance you can to win and what Q did is inexcusable. I am normally supportive of him but this tonight has just turned me completely. Did it cost us the game? We will never know if we would have won without the changes but the team that was out there tonight was grotesque, handicapped, sluggish. The Ducks are a great team and may be better than the Hawks but to play them without your best players when you have a choice is inexcusable.
