The latest they can waive Leschyshyn to make it work for Kane, is tomorrow, with him being claimed or demoted Sunday.

But it doesn't hurt to just get it over with. Rip off the bandaid.

To acquire Patrick Kane the following needs to happen:

- waive Leschyshyn no later than February 25th, AND
- send down Leschyshyn no later than February 26th, AND
- accrue daily cap space until March 3rd, AND
- waive+demote or include Kravtsov in the trade by March 3rd

That leaves just enough to acquire Kane at 25% on March 3rd, the trade deadline.

All 4 of these need to happen. It's not an either/or.

You have to think about it from the different angle. There's no cap space unless you move both Leschyshyn and Kravtsov today (or tomorrow).

Including Leschyshyn in the trad for Kane doesn't work because it won't accrue the cap space we need.

You need to demote him first, accrue daily cap space and then make the move on deadline day.
