Besides the one awesome rush and pass by Hemsky to set up Yak for the empty netter the 2nd line has been brutal today. multiple bad turnovers and lame puck battles by both Hemsky and Gagner.

If not for Dubnyk standing on his head this game is already over.

Top line is getting all kinds of pressure, they just cant buy a break today.

Hemsky doesn't give enough defensive efforts to be a player on a playoff team.

Hemsky has amazing puck carrying ability because of his puckhandling skill speed, and agility. However, he is a liability defensively because he doesn't get involved defensively. He will swing his stick around but doesn't bear down like Nuge to sticklift, he doesn't use his body like Eberle to get in the way, he doesn't go to the point to get in the way of a shot.

Check the stat card if you think stat card tells all. Hemsky is -4 with 1 block shots for the year. Gagner and even Yakupov has 3 block shots.

What a massive pile of crap. Hemsky was on a playoff team that made it to game 7 of the stanley cup finals. He has probably been the best defensive player on the second line this season.

Someone needs to bounce one in off of Hopkins as this is getting superstitious, lets start trying to bank them off his arse or something like we used to do with Semenko.

Focus on Nuge as the shooter as we were earlier, dont give up on him. Its about time for the coach to make some small comment about the penaltys, this is very onesided.

We need to take it to the net more, or we wont see another PP. Hall. Nuge. everyone just keep driving it all the way, 100% focus on running it to the net hard, every possesion right to the buckey, we need to roll up our sleeves.

When we pressure the point man to stop that first shot they are using to set up their deflections we need to remember to not close on them so we end up trying to block their shot with our legs together because they are getting those through on us because they are simply lobbing it past us looking for deflections, we want to have active sticks making contact with their sticks and the puck ASAP, we arent concerned with their rush from the point as they dont use it,they just use the neutral zone rush.
We need to make them pay for that positioning high straddeling our blueline by trying to rush it by them, we need to COMMIT to the move and go for the puck and the breakaways, wherever they are predictable we need to be attacking them.
