Yeah, I've never had to re-buy a console.

One PS1
One PS2
One PS3
One Xbox 360
One Xbox One

That said, my Xbox Ones disc reader is screwed up and I have to eject/insert the disc like 5-50 times to get the damn thing to read, but otherwise everything works fine.

I had my original Xbox 360 red ring on me pretty late in the gen. But my Xbox One and every other launch console I’ve ever had has held up fine.

Xbox going relatively under the radar might work out nicely, especially now that cross-play is becoming more common.

Is “under the radar” code for “shit exclusives”?

Of course I’m choosing an Xbox S or X because I’m an idiot. :5:

I assume you weren't in the market for a new graphics card and that the 2070 the NSA paid for is still holding up nice.

My SO needs a new GPU immediately. Her 1080 Ti threw smoke last week.

My launch day EVGA 970 is still kicking. My CPU is a Broadwell Xeon. I'll build a rig post-AMD announcements.

I think I've already mentioned this, but I personally care more about Halo than any PS exclusive, so I can't quite agree with you there. ;)

Regardless, my point was more that it seems like PS has become the default console for the average casual gamer. By that I mean people who are likely to only get the most popular games (CoD, GTA, Madden/Fifa, etc) and don't care all that much about the exclusives.

Unless you were trying to buy a 3080 today. Paper launch, as usual.

:DNope, my current stuff's only nine months old. I bought a 5700XT knowing I'd only keep it a year or two tops before moving on to a 3080 or something.

I'll pour out a 40oz for your partner's 1080Ti after work. Am lucky, the 980 Ti I bought long ago is soldiering on in what is now my kid's pc.
