Love it. Nice piece of business to deal with our logjam at wing. I'm sure this organization wants to be in a position to give a look to a few of our prospects in Abbotsford as well.

i dont know what you are on if you think Bear will cost anything significant on cap
Bear's contract plus OEL's buyout.
Bear is too small. A bandaid for a gapping wound.
Think playoffs. The Canucks would have the smallest defence, well they are pretty close now only Minny is smaller and they just lost a ton of games, Canucks would be even smaller

Both him and Hronek have had surgeries recently. Not all go as well as Hronek is right now.
They aren't like Tommy John surgery that actually improves the performance.
Most don't do as well as Hronek is right now. How long will it last?
How many NHL players have has shoulder surgery?
Virtanen did and he ended up hurting it again 4 times. Missed a lot ot games and never had the same wrist shot or hit as hard again.

Idk what you are on to think :
1. Bear is going to get more than 1 tear
2. The OEL buyout has anything to do with this deal

Wierd to use Hronek as an example on why not to sign Bear.

Great move to dump a $4 million cap hit for a guy with 1 ES goal in 22 games and not have to retain.

Started promisingly last year but this season has simply not been good enough and guys like Aman and Bains can take that roster spot and we lose nothing.

Classic tweener. Undersized, not skilled enough for top-6, but also not really a high-leverage checker and doesn’t PK.

Have you seen this team defense? They need depth and this isn't even taking into account a potential and likely trade for another d-man

So Horvat and a mid round first, a second and a fifth for Raty, Hronek and a fourth and fifth. Given Horvat was unsignable (and undesirable at the price) and the play of Hronek, I would say the trade was good. Although this is contegent on re-signing Hronek.

Said in the last game report, I was done with Beauvillier and so don't see much loss here. Maybe Chicago thinks they can get more for him at the dealine?

Clearly getting the cap space is essential if the team is to add any quality on the back-end and you have to wish someone like Tanev will be avialable at a decent price.

Not entirerly sold on Bear unless he comes on a team friendly (both cost and term wise) contract.
