Everywhere I have looked, including places like France24 using Reuters just says Football fans.

Not that it is right for people to be arrested and be idiots etc but 36 out of how many people in Lille attending?

Radio and TV here reporting english fans.
Though russian fans have apparently joined the fun today.

None were attending in Lille, they played in Lens (which is not far) and the police also received them today coming off the train from Lille.

Is it just me or is this a lower-scoring tourney than in years past? Even for soccer.

Although we're still early in the group stage, no one's been able to crack the three goal barrier. Usually by now there's at least one mismatch.

I think it is lower because of the change in format. Teams will be more defensive in the first game. Then it will open up due to the need to get a result if you did badly. Top teams have struggled to make their chances count as well.

2 goals a match at the moment, was 2.45 last time with fewer teams.

Might be because teams know 3 points with a + Goal Differential is probably enough to get them through (thanks to 24 teams).

Draws aren't the worst thing in the group stage.

It also doesn't help the goal tally that all of the top teams have been disappointing thus far; and are flawed generally.

There's far more talent discrepancy than in previous Euros due to the 24 teams now. And the lower ranked teams that made it in are basically teams that are pretty competent result managers (hence they qualified). Pretty much every game is either "defensive underdog desperately tries to hold out playing 10 behind the ball" vs "top team laboring to score" or two fairly even matched average teams that are cautious as hell because they know if they lose that one they're probably out.

There is no 'main' TSN channel anymore. They're based by region. TSN 4 and 5 are Ontario + Eastern Canada. So not exactly being relegated.

TSN1 is the main channel. That's why it's included in most basic cable packages. 2-5 are not. The only time they're regional is for hockey.

Ukraine first team eliminated after losing their first two games. Northern Ireland still alive but have to avoid losing big to Germany

All of this is true + in almost every game so far there has been at least one shot on the post and lots of very good saves and missed chances. There's not many teams that have in form strikers at the moment. At least the games are enjoyable and are flowing well without too much time wasting gamesmanship and overall the referees have been great. The large crowds and the singing IN the stadiums have been fantastic.

Ukraine aren't out?

Or are they because of their H2H with N.Ireland?

NIR have the head to head advantage so even if Ukraine win they can't get higher than last place. Goal difference only matters in the third place table which is why NIR can't afford to lose by 3 goals let's say. They will probably park the bus, tank and plane

No, TSN1 is the channel for the West coast. Likewise, people in Ontario get TSN4 on their basic package.

Huh, well right you are. Seriously wasn't aware of that, thought it was only for hockey regional feeds.

Still, TSN has taken Euro off TSN1 for us out west so if you don't have 2-5, you're screwed until after the US Open, so it's going to suck at work not being able to have the games on in the background.

Really no team looking too in form or at their peak. We'll see how Spain or Italy do tomorrow but even those two don't have their strongest squads. England and Germany's issues partially come down to bad coaching and selection choices imo, Frances to a lesser extent.

Bet we'll just see a bunch of games won on penalties later on.

Says the english fan who keeps on defending their behaviour...

That's relevant how?

Not to mention that I have criticized the England fans too. But please, try and ignore the glaring issues with French security
