The comparisons to Daigles game are if anything a good thing, he could have been a star in the league and did produce for a couple of seasons. He didn't turn into a star because he didn't care to. The fact that Esposito shys away from contact is not much different than many prospects. It means he might not be a complete player but regardless there are literally hundreds of players in the NHL that at some point were called soft. So he's not going to be the big Canadian powerforward, he still is a good prospect and can be a good player. Don't confuse on ice attitudes with off the ice attitudes and say because he's "soft" he doesn't care, like Daigle, cause its just often not true.

Well, I'm of the opinion the biggest undoing for Daigle was that he never played well with a man on him. In the open ice, he was an elite player, as he had great speed, passing and vision. When he first came into the league, he really did look good and made a decent impact on a very bad team in his first few years. But as the mid-90's rolled around and the trap became the flavour of the day, thing became much more difficult for Daigle. His lack of drive didn't help the matter, but his inability to control the puck with a body on him or dangle in close corners was his biggest issue. There just wasn't a lot of room on the ice in mid to late 90's.

Is this an accurate description of Esposito? I'm just curious.

As a Sarnia fan, good to see Stamkos putting up the points. Haven't seen Katic's stats, but he's on the second line, not bad.

Anyone know if the Under 18's are going to be televised(doesn't TSN usually)?

Okis, I think I might going to watch Finland-Swiss, Finland-Czech or Finland-Slovakia. So would any1 suggest players from those teams(not Finland obviously) who I could be watching? Any coming top picks for draft?

From the Swiss side probably Luca :eek::eek::eek:i and Roman Josi should be interesting.:eek::eek::eek:i has already been named as a possible first-rounder and Josi (born 1990) already played the U-20 WC for Switzerland and was there one of the best Swiss players.

Slovakia is the 2nd best team in Pool B after 2 games. They beat Sweden and lost in Shootout against CZE. Were they supose to be that good? Same for the swiss who beats Finland easily yesterday...

After 4 days, Finland and Sweden would go to relegation round. Were they just very weak this year or?? I know Sweden has some good player especially backlund but so far he didnt really help the team.

I have no idea about Finland, but the swedes born 89 and 90 are supposed to be very good. Maybe the experts were wrong about them, or the less than impressive results so far could just be a combination things, like of bad luck and bad coaching. And why take away anything from the Slovaks? They are a competent hockey nation and it's very possible that they just played very well.

Slovakian player are really good but not many will get drafted early in the draft. Jaroslav Janus is really dominant so far in this tournement. Goalie has been key so far in the touny for every team. Many games were really close even though shot were like 40-20. I'm happy to see that country like Slovakia and the Swiss are doing that good.

Bad news for canada, Keven Veilleux had an injury to his shoulder during the last game, he'll be out of the roster for the rest of the tourney but will stick with team canada in finland

I don't think the '89 age group is as strong as the '85's overall when they won gold at the IIHF U18 a few years back, but they should be gold medal contenders regardless. The 85's were so strong and deep and like this group, had a bunch of returnees from the summer U18 tourney. Canada has a goalie, 5 D-men and 8 forwards back from the gold medal winning team at the August U18 Junior World Cup. Should be fun and I'm looking forward to the tourney!

does anyone have the roster for the gold medal winning 85's? im curious to see who all was on it

never heard of a few on those list, such as Bolduc, Bissonette, and Tardif. Interesting to see how many of those guys are already in the NHL and top prospects.

Ryan Munce, he's with Johnstown in the ECHL, doesn't look like he had a great year statswise. I was hoping for big things with him-he's a LA draft pick, but he's been bounced around the "E" alot-hope things improve for him.

He always had the potential yet his head is not in the game. On multiple occasions he has had mind lapses and various things. The guy is busy smiling and waving to his girlfriend half the time who is sitting in the stands. In general just does not focus enough and has some major *** moments.
