Overall, not bad for a TSN list. Although, I would bump Jagr up a bit.

ok you have proven me wrong. but how good were they still tbf ? better than all players from the past 50 years? not on the list? maybe top 25 players who were great/helped grow the game is a better title for the article

Howie Morenz's 190 adjusted points in 1927-1928 are the highest of all time.

Wayne Gretzky is 2nd with 170.

This thread been bumped after 10 months?

I prefer to wait until a player has finished his career before putting them on a list. Players can rise or fall before their career is over.

OV most likely will move up by the time he's done.

I always get mad when I see lists like this. But then you have to remind yourself that this list is not the best 25 players of all time. It's the 25 best careers relative to their peers without factor in stuff like quality of teammates and quality of opponents. With that mindset it makes sense to put someone like Howe above someone like Lemieux. And it make sense to put Sakic above Forsberg etc etc.

They also seems to value team accomplishment such as cups pretty high which is weird.

Howe was better and greater than Lemieux.

Howe was better and greater than Lemieux.
In what way?
If you remove Gretzky, everyone would put Lemieux as the best player of all time. You know it's true.
I'm not even convinced Gretzky was a better player than Lemieux. Better career, yes, better player? Pretty close.

Lol. Seriously.

The Wings were as great for as long as they were BECAUSE of Lidstrom, who imo, is the greatest defenseman of all time.
 Only Dead Wings fans would think this. He was certainly not better than Bobby Orr and Bourque was also better.

In your opinion.

And I like how you bring up ‘Dead Wings’ as some sort of insult.

As if the the Habs have done anything of significance the last million years.
LOL I think most agree here that Bobby Orr is the greatest defenseman ever and Bourque was better than Lidstrom. You are in the tiny minority who thinks the opposite.

And no matter if the Habs are great or not, they will always be the most significant team ever in NHL history.

I dont understand how Crosby and Ovechkin are so low. The game is bigger than it's ever been - the fact that these players are dominating this era is more impressive to me than what Beliveau or Richard did.

Who cares how many cups you have in a 6 team league. Dinosaurs made this list.

I take it most would agree both Matthews and Marner can be slotted into the mid teens by now?
They both should probably be in the top 10 considering what has gone on in the last 24 hours. Tavares, Marleau, Nylander, Kadri,
Reilly, Kapanen, Gardiner, Andersen, Hymen and possibly Ennis should also be in the top 10.

I realize that that is 11 players (possibly 12 if Ennis squeeks in) but I know that we are witnessing greatness that is going to shatter the principals of reality at any moment.

These old players don’t belong on this list, players are way better today. If you send a guy like kuznetsov or Gaudreau back in time to play against guys like Howie Moretz and Eddie Shore they would dominate.

LoL. I've just noticed that those so-called experts put "cups" as one of the factors on this list. Probably "experts" think that hockey is some kind of tennis or badminton. Sure they don't know that Gretzky never won a cup without Edmonton, while Edmonot won it without Gretzky. Thats all you need to know about an influence of one player on wining SC.
Cups only matter when they want to put the player on the lists. See Malkin.

Not that I really think Malkin should be on this specific one, but if Crosby and Ovi are..
