All of that said, while Krug is not my ideal return, I'd be happy to move Trouba 1 for 1 for Krug. I'm not sure a better deal would materialize. This would give us outstanding depth on the left side:

Enstrom
Krug
Morrissey
Stuart

All while maintaining a more then respectable right side:

Byfuglien
Myers
Postma

With all assets except for Postma being controlled well into the future... Enstrom would be gone as Morrissey would need a big pay bump for contract #2 most likely. Leaving Krug and Morrissey to man the left side. It's definitely acceptable.

I actually see the trade as a possibility thought about it a while ago.

It will hurt Boston's power play/scoring, but will bring size and strength and help the right side D.
Boston has quite a bit left side D prospect depth.

The Bruins BEST d-prospects are RHD. Krug is a non-starter for me unless Fowler is coming in another deal. Would rather just flip Fowler to WPG, though. Would add more to Fowler than to Krug. Much more, really.

We really don't know that.
Bruins have a lot good left shot D prospects.

If management felt different they wouldn't have just resigned Krug to a new contract. Trust me, they aren't considering it

Okay no deal that's easy. And if that's the kind of deal they're holding out for the jets cash keep Trouba.

I don't think a 1 for 1 makes any sense for the bruins either. I'd rather see them keep krug for the cheaper money and fix the D correctly instead of moving the problem from one side to the other. The bruins need to add on D and moving their best dman isn't a great way of doing that.

IMO if Chevy could pull this off, it would be unreal. IMO Krug would be a deadly fit in Winnipeg and id be curious what the picks and prospects are.

Krug gets mixed reviews on the Bruin's board. Don't see where he has become this top pairing Dman. Trouba is not without his flaws, but the B's would do a 1 for 1 swap all day long as long as Trouba's contract demands aren't too far above Krug's 5.25.

It's because he's short people think he's a 'powerplay specialist' and can't defend. That doesn't make him less than what he is. His minutes have steadily increased as well as dropping his zone starts. Torey Krug isn't getting moved

I think any deal the Bruins make would have to be centered around Ryan Spooner. I also think if any team was interested in a deal around Ryan Spooner that trade would have already happened.

Hoping Cam Fowler is being strongly considered by Boston. Not the same player as Trouba (IMO) but would likely cost less to acquire.

Morrow is worth close to nothing at this point.

Prospect and a 1st round pick would be doable, but they might want that prospect to be Macavoy which would be an absolute non starter.

Or the most trusted insider in the business, who consistently breaks big news, and has proven connections deep within many organizations and the NHL itself?

Trouba is without a doubt top 4. In fact, I think he's something like 39th in the NHL for TOI over the last 3 years and he was 19, 20, 21.

As a Bruins fan living in Winnipeg I see a lot of both of these players, and as an all around defenceman, Trouba is much better. If the Bruins can make a one for one swap, they win big here.

I am a Bruins fan, I like Trouba, I like Krug, I like Trouba more than Krug but I don't think there is a huge difference in their value if Trouba were signed to a decent contract. I also don't think the Bruins are looking to acquire Trouba at the cost of Krug, it just doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

If the Jets don't want a forward/picks/prospects in some combination then there might not be a deal to be had between these teams.


Besides all that, this is an Eklund rumor which is about as reliable as a rumor that one of us starts.

Trouba versatility / all around game >>>> Krug

Not to mention Trouba much more physical, 3 years younger, and most think has a lot of space before he hits his potential.. it's easy why we want something added to Krug.
Western conference is much more of a grind than playing in the East too..
