Not a huge deal but can't say I'm a fan. If Sauve can ever stay healthy (I know), he could definitely contribute at the NHL level. Flick sounds like a watered down version of MacDermid.
Looks like we picked up someone who is closer to being NHL ready for 4th line duties for a prospect who wasn't quite hitting his 2nd/3rd line potential and probably wasn't 4th line material.
Rob Flick was the best player in the city my age growing up. I knew him a little bit through lacrosse. Tough kid who can play a bit. MacDermid replacement sounds right.
minor deal obviously, but a good/necessary one. Sauve has had his chances and isn't really realizing his potential. We're getting a player that knows what he is and is doing what he supposed to do. With MacD gone, he's the fall back tough guy.

Flick brings size at 6’2 and good checking ability. Though he does not project as much of a scorer, he possesses a decent set of hands and a high hockey IQ.

Flick earned an NHL contract from Chicago after splitting time as a rookie in ECHL Toledo and the AHL with Rockford. He is penciled into a bottom six center spot in Rockford to begin the 2012-13 season but
