Would you rather have our 1st round pick this year or Lafrenière?
The pick. If it's not wright then it'll probably be Nemec. I'd rather a fresh potential no. 1 C/D over a reclamation project that hopefully turns into his being a top line W

Well it's not about having those 2 guys on top of every single prospect that exists. As you say yourself, we are not trading Suzuki. So it's trying to be as realistic as possible. And in a world were the salary cap is important, I feel that Toffoli should have gotten mor ethan he did. And I repeat, I like Heineman.
Maybe that will be the case when it al plays out…

I'm curious to what the Jets will be able to get for Copp. He's a good player.

Gallagher and Armia are slow too. Hoffman isn’t a speed demon either.

It’s fine for us to say the Toffoli return was underwhelming. It’s better than becoming blind and partisan cheerleaders… that cult of personality stuff with Bergevin was extremely inappropriate.
Cult of personality? What personality does Hughes have, exactly? He looks and sounds like a bland accountant or a tax specialist. No one would be remotely interested in the guy if he weren’t occupying a fishbowl of a job within the most prestigious org. in hockey.

Who wants to emulate his shaved head look? What, you don’t like his plain grey and charcoal suits? What a trendsetter, we should all be smitten by his “cult of personality.”

These new guys are building a resume. I’d rather wait til I’ve seen more of a track record to better appreciate if and how they will have implemented their strategy. That’s my prerogative.

WTF are you on about “blind and partisan cheerleaders”? What are you even insinuating? Just because some us want to give these new guys the benefit of the doubt doesn’t mean we deserve to be referred to by your gratuitous, derogatory terms, which you clearly pulled out of your ass.

What is your point bringing in other slow players still on the team? That’s a pretty disingenuous comment when they are still in the early days of their tenure and when they’ve understandably only made two major deals so far. There are evidently other factors at play that determine who gets traded when and for what return and which concessions, the case arising. Were you expecting all slow players to get traded at one time? Or that they should have all had been dealt by now?

You know nothing about those of us you are attacking. Most of us in here started off the same way with Bergevin. When we realized that his actions did not match his words and when we saw there was enough of a track record to judge him, we judged him with the harshness he deserved.

I see the same situation here. I believe most in here will give Hughes and Gorton some rope but if we see them veer off course and act incompetently, we’ll call them on it. Also, we’ll commend them if they deserve it.

If you choose to micro-analyze every move without a larger body of work in place, then that’s your prerogative. Just don’t come in with implied derogatory associations and empty conclusions regarding those of us who are taking a different approach.

Allen doing his best to help Hughes hit a homerun on Monday...

Gotta figure the Laffs will be paying close attention.

With Florida, Boston & Tampa all adding reinforcements, Shanny & Dubas can't be feeling great about their goaltending situation not being an Achilles heel.

Armia playing well tonight
Allen playing well tonight

Could we take advantage of the arms race desperation & turn them into a 1st+....

I prefer the Toffoli return to the Giroux return frankly... especially considering the panthers pick is top 10 protected.

Don't know why ppl think it's a bad return :dunno:

I wish we’d trade Allen but I don’t see us doing it without knowing what’s going on with Price
