Then I think he is done.

Yeah so do I but last year Bergy pulled a rabbit out of his hat right at the deadline. I just don't see us being able to make a big move unless a roster player goes the other way.

You know its more complicated than that...

Maybe. But I call BS for any reports about Kessel being incredibly disruptive, being a total jerk, who is "just" scoring goals. That's what we need. Goals. Now...whether we can make the deal cap Wise, whether we don't want to get rid of the farm for him and such...let's talk. But to say that we don't need him because he's responsible for the Leafs demise...makes no sense to me. Yeah, Kessel is responsible for PRESUMABLY, not being that great leader and just being a player that gets caught in the miserability of the Leafs......But people who think that there's just no chance that Kessel would upgrade his overall game on a better team WITHOUT knowing the guy's first hand, are plain wrong.

Rebuild around Kessel? If you think they've been trying to build around Kessel, then you must see they've done a terrible job surrounding him.
Who do you think is better at moving the puck up to you, Markov - PK or Phaneuf - Franson?
Who do you think you can let you cheat a bit more? Bernier/Reimer or Price?

Toronto is where it is because their team sucks and they don't suck because Kessel doesn't score. They do because their Defense and Goaltending are horrible.

Just more excuse making.

Kessel is as much a part of the problem in Toronto as anyone else.

He could have turned himself into a solid 2 way guy, he has all of the tools.

Why hasn't he?

Or is it the rest of the teams' fault?

What exactly is Kessel responsible for????

Why is it that when star players are on successful teams people have no problem giving them praise, yet when star players are on unsuccessful teams it's not their fault?

Being a GM is not only about making trades. The cap has to be managed and if MB has no cap space he can move salary if creative enough. Fat lady ain't sung yet!

Galchenyuk will not be traded. Gallagher could during the summer... the other 2 are available... but we should not read anything into that. Players are removed from the team when they're traded... wherever or whenever that is.

So far, no trade...

I agree. I mean, I just translated the text and the ... Sub-text ?!

Exactly

when it comes to kessell, we need to remove our leaf hating goggles, AND his only other team was the bruins, so especially habs fans have been programmmed very early on to HATE kessel....but honestly...hes a pretty GOOD player, and would put us over the top

the thing people need to realize with kessel and the leafs is

Leafs ask him before the year : PHIL, you GOTTA score 35 goals or else we'll SUCK!"

Kessel scores 35 goals. Team STILL sucks.... This is KESSELS fault??

its too bad he's been on toronto's downward spiral the last couple years, because they arent on a spiral BECAUSE of kessel, he is merely apart of it, and when you start sucking that bad its pretty tough to get riled up for games. i feel bad for Phil i really do, he'd be amazing on a great team, when he scored 37 goals in boston he looked like the next big thing

Désappointé is a real word in French and it means Décu.

Indeed it is but let's be real, these guys don't know it's a french word. They use ''désappointé'' and ''focusé'' because of disappointed and focus from the english language that they employed during their NHL careers.
Anybody I know that speaks proper french will like say ''decu'' and ''concentré''.
