Toronto is in a very scary position right now (looking at PPG)

It's undeniable. The Leafs are going to have to go on a heater in 2020 if they want to make the playoffs. The rest of the year is where we see what this team is really made of

reading some of these posts is scary .... so many delusional fans ...

this team SUUUUUUUUUCKS .... what part of they have the 5th worst points per game record in the east isnt clear ? the goddamn Canadians who lost 8 games in a row have a better point per game record than this laughing stock of a team... at this point the writing is on the wall. Time to trade away this horrid D core and bring up the marlies, can they be any worse ? at least they will get nhl experience.

some serious mistakes have been made in the offseason starting with the stupid contracts that were handed out. NO TEAM ever wins giving 4 players 50% of your cap, especially when they fold against good teams every goddamn time.

Let's try for a top 10 pick in a deep draft

I think they will put it together, the wins will come once there is a fire lit up their ass.

The season is essentially over. They can make a valiant run all they want but there are now too many teams clustered above us, Tampa is still behind us (and will surpass us) and it will be an absolute dog fight. And when there's a dog fight, the Leafs don't do well.

You are right.

It is done. Season lost, playoffs are not even in the picture anymore.

We can now draft a good young D man in the 1st round of the draft with our pick..... oh wait :thumbd:

the pick is top10 protected. Just a FYI
Thanks, I do know that though. (No sarcasm)

The only hope now is to aim for a top 10 pick. I think the Leafs pick will be 12-15.

Take a look at this, hope it makes you feel better????

Toronto is ranked 21st in the league with 30pts

Tampa at 29pts (5gms in hand) is 22
Ranges at 29pts (4gms in hand) is 23
Nashville at 29pts (3gms in hand) is 24
Anaheim at 28pts (2gms i hand) is 25

Toronto could be as low as 25th in the league

IMO it's undeniable the season is over. This team has no heart.

I'm hoping for a top 10 finish and maybe lady lottery luck will be on our side?

107 point pace for the rest of the year?

lol. I’m not gonna be able to watch this team and just drink beer. May have to step up my glue sniffing game I think. I always look forward to getting off the lake ice fishing and watching leafs games. It’s gonna be a long winter I’m afraid.

Agreed!

It ain’t over till the fat lady sings!
Time to pull the balls up in Royal Canadian Dragoon height and fight like real men.

Should they fail to make it this year, at least give us something to look forward to.

I truly believe this team will go on a tear in the new year, just like I will :)

It may seem bleak right now, but don't forget that we're upon a new decade and we've got a young core locked up.

This might not be our year, but the next decade will be ours!

Yet if we miss, at least we won't have to get ass raped by the Bruins again?

Think positive fellow Leafs fans!

No, the scariest position is one where we miss and we dont get a 1st round pick (11th to 15th).

If were sinking, hopefully its fast enough we can sell off Muzz and Barrie

The only sensible way of looking at the standings is by PTS% and we are 25th overall. Here's a link:
NHL.com - Stats

How is it possible that you started this thread, PPG is in the thread title and you still go and make this post which shows Toronto ahead of TB (just as an example) when by PPG, TB is 12th and Toronto is 25th?

Season isn't over. That's an overreaction.

They do however need a very very good stretch to get this season back on track.

Last night they played well, but a few bonehead plays, and the huge $$$ up front didn't produce anything.

The only way it will work by paying your F group so much is if they actually produce.
