So they are playing better. Playoffs are a marathon, not a sprint, so I'm not worried. We will get one of the top 3 spots in the metro, or 2nd-3rd spot more precisely.

Except they're marathoning up Heartbreak Hill the next couple weeks

Nashville, at Rangers, LA, Pittsburgh, at Anaheim, at LA, at SJ before Thanksgiving. They needed to string together a streak of wins this week. They're not beating many of those teams with the lack of offense on this roster. Maybe they'll win Sunday, maybe they'll squeeze out one of the LA games on pride...I can't really make a case we win any more than that.

We're only 3 points out of a playoff spot, somehow.

Gelinas continues to look decent, should shape up to be a good player.

That's why I think we need to find a different means of getting offense, and for ****s sake have a practice dedicated to scoring goals. Or at least hitting the net on a odd man rushes. Dedicate an entire practice to that.

Are our goalies that good in practice?

We just lost a 2-1 nail biter. What new system is going to somehow flip the script.

Want to win close ones you play this system. Solid D, and you pile shots on net and, in theory, clean up the garbage. We aren't cleaning the garbage up though. Need to get in front and get those rebounds when they come.

His hockey IQ is really advanced for such a young Dman. I think he'll be the real deal in 2-4 years.

Did he even play in the third? It seems his ice time just got chopped and I didn't see anything that he did to deserve it.

I mean even if he's bad defensively (and I don't remember him making many mistakes this year) it's not as if you're protecting a lead. Protecting a tie might as well be saying let's just lose a SO. Plus if Tedenby's speed EVER is going to have an impact it'll be 4-on-4, but no let's run the slowpokes out there and crawl to the shootout where we'll die anyway :shakehead

**** they should have given him a chance in the shootout, at least maybe he can have some creativity and maybe dangle past Bernier.

Yup.

This is when Deboer is at his worst; when he has to think.

Same as the gimmick. Tedenby and Loki are probably two of the teams' best options but he never uses them. Zids and Harrold are good 1x0 too, but they're defensemen, so the thought doesnt even enter his Jurassic mind.

Pete thinks Zubrus will be effective in open ice..........

I mean, what the hell is the point of even having him on the roster if your not going to use him in a situation where he could excel in. I get benching him during stretches of 5 on 5 play if hes not forechecking or backchecking or turning it over but on 4 on 4 there's really no risk of him failing at those things. Whole thing just makes no sense.

Need to beat Nashville and the Rags. Try their best against Pitt (we usually play them well and we are at home). Then just get as many points as possible against the west teams.

Zajac was in the shootout to try to boost his confidence.

it failed.

Can Pete stop using Henrique in shootouts too? It's insanity. He's our leading goal scorer, but good in shootouts he is not. He's got the lowest shootout success rate on our team other than guys who have never scored or have only taken 2 or 3 chances.

Henrique is ass in the shootout. 1 for 7 in the shootout now? And 0 for 1 on in game penalty shots. That's my only complaint about the shootout lineup. I've been saying Henrique is ass in the shootout all year too. I hope Zajac has earned himself a chance to watch for the first 6 or 7 rounds from here on out too.

At least Larsson is showing why he's the 4th overall pick. Him and gelinas have been the best pairing. Pete should play them more. But they won't because they doesn't fit Pete's criteria of needing to be 28 or older.

Lou needs to do something...the emergence of Gelinas can maybe allow a defenseman to be moved.

They need offense.

Seriously, they'll be lucky to get 2 points starting from LA out through the WC trip. It's highly likely they will get destroyed in all 3 of the WC games.

This team is blah. There is at least one team worse than them in the division, but they are not a playoff team and if the crossover gets activated (and there's no reason to think it won't right now), they might as well go home and save everyone the trouble.

The Rangers have done a complete 180 since we threw them to rock bottom a couple weeks ago. I really don't see us winning that game. Our BEST-case scenario out of the next 7 is probably 2-3-2...and that just keeps us barely above water. Winnipeg right after that's probably a loss too, we never match up well with them. So really it's the next eight that are a killer stretch.

Sadly I think all you're gonna get is another Dagostino or Booby Butler.

Can we trade for Wojtek Wolski or something? I'm dead serious. We need a shootout specialist I think. Tired of seeing Zajac and Henrique stink up the joint in the shootout.

For a team that goes to OT and the shootout a lot how can the coach be completely speechless about it, it's part of the game **** face! He barely hinted at "you know, we might look at other options, ahhh but I don't know". Yes Pete you have other options, we haven't scored once lol, change it up, you're allowed to.

I thought Gelinas looked real good yet again. Gets shots on nets, uses the body, and even creating down low.

He said he can't coach the shootout...well that's obvious by his unimaginative lineup choices :p:
