Dubas is FINALLY doing what I have wanted them to do for since he became GM .

He's FINALLY adding REAL depth.

this is his best job he has done as GM.

I still don't think they are done
It's the first year he isn't constrained by decisions that needed to be made because of the previous GM.

This roster for better or worse are mainly his decisions.

It sure is, he has no more excuses
We are Leafs Nation
We have no patience We want to be all in next year
We want Dubas fired ASAP so he can take his stupid analytics to Detroit and hoist a bunch of cups there instead
We are very stupid

Odds are we are not winning the cup next year or the year after that.
Relax.
Rember- the more a fan base screams in disgust and with howling disagreement, the more likely management is doing the right thing

I'm not calling for him to be fired but he has no more excuses there needs to be REAL progress made.

They can't lose in round 1 again.

and I don't think this team does not with the changes made.

Darren Dreger would know nothing about what the numbers are for this arbitration case from either side but I hope he's right.

Who is going to be playing Vancouver's right side next season? Are they in on AP? Or Schmidt? Or Weegar?

Leafs likely hopes/sees opportunity for him to produce similar offensive numbers as he did with the Rags (interestingly he didn't exactly get easy usage when he was there)

Like Simmonds I won't be surprised to see him get some shifts upper in the lineup from time to time

Is Vesey on a 2-way contract? This signing is pretty YAWN to me. I guess the money is right. It would be much better if he agrees to be sent down (if needed) for cap flexibility.

All the Rangers and Sabers fans claimed this guy provided nothing-no grit, no defense, no offense even put on top line, no physical presence whatsoever. Yes we can bury him in the minors but at this price I may rather want Wallmark or even the goat because the bottom 6 needs more defense specialists which I have not seen Dubas addressed any.

I can also tell y'all that Vesey is a pretty big body, uses it rarely goody googly, but he has been a fighter spirit at some games. Not in all by any means, but he looked like a real terrier in some of those rangers games... I've seen a couple of them. I was pretty sold on those games. Lets see if our thugs simmonds, bogosian, Hyman and muzzin can sparkle that sucka on the same way and get that ass going. Also we now have robertson, who is a real terrier himself.
I've also heard that barabanov is not a soft sucka, but more of a feisty lil thang. Who gets going and keps it real. We'll have to see sire.

he had just 1 fewer 5v5 point than Jeff Skinner last year and signed for 10% of his salary, so that's not bad

Meh I had the same number of playoff goals as Marner and Barrie put together and as many hits as Gauthier and Johnsson combined yet I didn't get a look. Being better than a black hole isn't much of an endorsement. I do like the signing based on the cost but I am always leery about ineffective top 6 players becoming effective in the bottom 6. He seems like he has tons of physical ability but will need to make some adjustments. Does that happen at 27? I guess Engvall has set the bar low enough because based on his use late in the season he is not a Keefe favorite.

Vesey is a good depth option. Definitely didn't live up to expectations coming into the NHL. That being said though, there is the Harvard connection between him and Kerfoot. I think Vesey starts on that third line and then it's up to him to keep his spot there.

Vesey is not defensively responsible according to this analytics expert.

and a 4th liner , I agree

Over his career he's been bad defensively. But last season his xGA was actually good even though his offense was down.

^ this modest impact was actually better than what AJ and Kapanen provided last year.

From what I've read, it sounds like Vesey really sucks. But that's ok, no risk, can bury if need be. Maybe can fill in for injuries.
