If this is true Kawhi will immediately become my least favorite player in the league
A shame, I used to love him
Same here. He's gone from being one of the most (apparently) likable guys in the game to full heel.

Toronto wtf he doesn’t even wanna be there LOL
DeRozan isn't coming back to Toronto lol.Have any of you considered that next summer DeRozan may return?
The only way I would have pulled off this trade is with a guaranteed sign and trade.
Not a fan of Leonard's attitude though. Both sides were wrong in their own way but he checked out and during this whole thing only cares about playing in one place. Seems like a lousy teammate.
This guy is a ****ing loser.
Every time he comes on NBA Radio I switch the channel. And it's only when he comes on.We're talking about Bucher, right? I agree.
euh no lol he has to play or his final year of the contract wouldn't be used up and hes stuck in toronto until he does. He would cost himself a year and tons of money.it would be lovely if kawhi is actually serious about sitting out AND about being a laker
then TOR has no choice but to deal him to the lakers and the return will be trash

Oh yeah, but they wouldnt be forced too. Leonard will be forced to play, though. He has 0 leverage. I think they will, but not for trash.pretty sure TOR can trade him once the physicals are complete

iirc when they traded Vince Carter, Alonzo Mourning refused to report. He could theoretically refuse to report if he is that discontent with the move. From a money perspective alone he's going from a GOAT tax situation in Texas to a WOAT tax situation. Can he just sit out and walk? Wouldn't this be like the Yashin situation, where he owes them a year?
raptors fans don't seem too torn up about derozan being dealt
pretty surprising for a guy who was 100% committed to toronto in this age of superteams

What other moves can Toronto make for this year? They now have exactly a 1-year window and 1-year window only cause lord knows Kawhi will be out of there as soon as possible if he even decides to report.
They're still behind Boston and could be behind Philly depending on the natural progression of Philly's young guns.
Trading him right away would be even stupider than acquiring him in the first place.
They should have talked to the guy before trading for him. They have wasted assets for someone that will be a distraction all year long, no matter what.
Life isn't a video game. Kawhi is much better than DeRozan, but the disruption his arrival (if he even comes) could have on the team and all the circus about will he/won't he re-sign isn't worth it.
This honestly feels franchise sinking.

True. That was very different. Zo was 35, not playing particularly well and wasn't a guy they particularly wanted. They just bought him out, I'm thinking they might be more insistent with one of the best players in the league.
