Dell had a good year this year and he probably deserved a contract with a team that would play him in the NHL. I would've much preferred him at this cap hit to Dubnyk at $2.17M.

I am absolutely loving the moves this off-season. I think teams are realizing that this upcoming season is going to be unlike any other season. Having a capable 3rd stringer is going to be key

Wouldn't shock me if Dell himself only wanted a 1 year deal for this exact reason, he can score something bigger in the future when things are normal again

Dell was the best UFA goalie left on the market imho . Sucks for him he has to accept a role as a #3 i guess. Think he would've been better than Mike Smith for the Oilers especially at that price.

A couple of really old guys who once had been starters are still out there i guess but not sure how much interest there is for those. Ryan Miller probably goes back to the Ducks or something.

THere's a reasonable chance thats Tippett's fault . Probably wanted Smith back if Oilers couldn't get a more high profile goalie signed.
