That's wild timing. I didn't see it live but remember watching it over on TSN before school in the morning.Same. I was flipping through channels and stopped on the game randomly, about 30 seconds before it happened.
Yes. All stems back to the previous game between the two and his hit on Naslund. Moore spent this game running away from a fight. If he'd gotten it out of the way early, it's done.
I mean, I do understand it. After all, Canucks fans are no where near as heavy as automobiles, and yet they absolutely destroyed those. He did fight Matt Cooke in that came.
Canucks fans wanted him to then "fight" someone two weight classes higher.
Marc Crawford and Todd Bertuzzi cost their team a legit shot at the Cup because they couldn't manage their emotions. Naslund came back quickly and had a strong run in the playoffs. He only missed 4 games

Not saying it was justified but Steve Moore had it coming the way he was moving. Obviously sucks that was the end result and the consequent 600 pound dog pile on his neck.
NopeI thought I was the only person with that unpopular opinion.
Bertuzzi was also never the same player after this.
I'm surprised Kadri wasn't pulled out of middle school and suspended.
Complete garbage hit, Moore definitely deserved to get his ass beaten but not his career ended.

Your definition of running away is very...odd.
Even prior to the hit, Bertuzzi was f***ing useless and grumpy that year. He signed a big contract before the season started but he wasn’t the same, the league cut down on his shit and he sulked and cashed in the paychecks throughout until the hit.
Also, Marc Crawford lost his shit and pretty much told the Canucks to goon it up against the Avs. Guy lost the plot that year, he was on borrowed time.
It's hard to believe that this took place two decades ago. What would the punishment have been had this happened in today's NHL?
Choosing the Smallest non fighter on the team. Just made Moore more of a p***y.
Yeah 2004 Bert was garbage compared to the year before. He had 17 goals coming from 47 at the time of the suspension
moore shouldn't have had to sit. bertuzzi should of been on the benchI always thought it was a f***ing dumb decision to play Moore in the third period of an 8-2 blowout.
Unpopular is one word you could useI thought I was the only person with that unpopular opinion.
Cooke was dirty. But he was soft. No one is scared of fighting that clown . Face it your boy Moore took the bitch route out by fighting Cooke.Matt Cooke is not a small, soft, nor clean player.
*Edit* - my math was wrong, correcting.
