Ottawa made it out like a bandit with Zibanejad (arguably the best forward available at 6), Noesen (sleeper pick), and Puempel (best scorer in this draft class with a major injury history; high risk high return type).

As somebody mentioned, they added to their forward depth, the achilles heel in the last few years for Ottawa. Now they have A-level forward prospects to add onto Silferverg, Petersson, Stone, et. al. They have A-level prospects in all positions now.

Moving up to pick him up was probably the worst. I feel Burke is ruining Leafs' future

Well our future as a whole still looks promising, but this move was definitely a head scratcher. We essentially gave up our high 2nd rounder to move up and grab a banger with less skill than others still on the board.

I would feel much better if Burke had used the move up to take Puempel, or just stay pat at 25 and draft Phillips. Burke is too high on goons, and its frustrating at times.

Oh well, all will be forgiven if he brings in that number one centre. And Habs got a solid pick in Beaulieu.

I like the Tyler Biggs pick a lot, similar to Boston grabbing Lucic couple of years ago. But he would be better on a team that has a lot of highly talented forwards on their team or prospects in their system. Leafs don't have much of that. Plus NO ONE tough Lucic would be this good. No one knows if Kassian will be top 6 guy who has more skill than Biggs.

If Biggs or Kassian turn out to be no more than 3rd or 4th line fighters/grinders then they should not be 1st round picks.

If they turn out to be top 6 scoring forward pugilists similar to Lucic.......that is a homer run.

Love the Avs picks.

Gabriel Landeskog-fills a huge need on the wing for the departed Stewart. Will fit in nicely next to Stastny or Duchene. Hard work, intensity, goal scoring ability, strong 2 way player and captain material. Complete package.

Duncan Siemens- Also fills a need in our organization as a big left handed 2 way defenceman who is more defensive. Great skater for his size, good passer, and very mean and solid in his own end. Will offset a guy like Stefan Elliott (his partner in Saskatoon) or Tyson Barrie nicely. Heck, he may eventually slot in next to EJ.

Wanted Murphy, got Hamilton. I think the Bruins made a foolish move.

Hamilton is a much safer pick. I think Hamilton will be a legit top pairing defenseman with a downside of a #3 guy, while Murphy might turn out to be the next Coffey/Leetch but his downside is a #5/PP specialist

I don't know if I like Beaulieu or not. I know he's an amazing skater, with amazing skills and that he should've gone a bit higher, but I wanted McNeill so much. We already have some nice young d-men in Subban, Tinordi, Emelin, Diaz, Weber, etc. and I think we should've gone with something we desperately need since many years in this big right-handed skater, when we know next year is full of amazing defencemen. But still, I hope Beaulieu turns out good, I've only heard nice things about him.

I wanted J.T. Miller so I'm happy the Rangers went with him (they never seem to pick "my guy").

That said, I'm not happy at all that Larsson, Strome AND Couturier will all be joining the Atlantic Division. Just, man, damn, come on... :help:

As a Canucks fan I'm pretty satisfied with Nicklas Jensen. He just seems like the type of player that fits into our system. The Canucks needed a forward with size and top 6 potential and they got one.

Tyler Biggs is one of those guys you love to have around come playoff time, so I'm very happy he's in the system.

Stuart Percy I was a little less than enthused with but Leaf scouts seemed pretty high on him so what do I know.

I'm trusting them they have given us some pretty good prospects, I could see that continuing here. If Biggs developed into it he could be a guy that could open up a lot of room and crowd the net for a top line.
