Only Canadian hockey media would be pretentious enough to ask a guy who's just been traded if he'd consider re-signing with the team that discarded him, and in four years no less.

Such an ******* question. What kind of hot take did he expect to get there?

Just openly ask him to throw his new team under the bus since that is what you want to hear.

I think Gregor just knows Hall pretty well as he's been around him and the team for so long, so he is comfortable with going off the rails a bit... but yeah I don't think I'd ask that question as Hall is the property of the Devils. Pretty sure he shouldn't be talking about signing with other teams during free agency in 4 years.

To put it bluntly, that was very IDIOTIC of this Gregor person.

He makes Chere seem intelligent. :shakehead

Right on. My bucket list includes playing street hockey on a roof in Jersey, just like the movie Clerks. I'll have to swing by some time and check it out one day.

I live about a mile away from where the quik stop is and let me tell you it's a **** hole. They must have filmed that hockey scene somewhere else cause there's no way they could play hockey on that roof. I remember being so disappointed the first time I visited the place. I'm just warning you cause people make pilgrimages to visit the place. So if you ever come to the NYC/NJ area just stay away, it's not worth it lol. Don't waste your time lol.

Dude I lived it.:yo:

Saw some people dressed up like Jay and Silent Bob having their picture take by what looked like a semi pro photograher outside of Quickstop just the other day.

Nope filmed on the roof. Not that we actually played hockey up there, they just made it look like we played hockey up there.

And the **** hole factor is part of the allure imo.

You play roller at all?

To be honest, I think I had some misconceptions about Hall before he was traded here. I thought he would be the loud-mouthed, attention-getting type off ice, but by his own description he seems more reserved. I had the impression that he was more of that "dumb jock" stereotype, when in interviews, it's becoming clear that he really does study the game and he's quite witty as well. Witty and honest. A good interview to listen to. A good player and a good interview. What's not to love? :D

He is getting better with age, His game and attitude seems to be maturing, especially last year and now this trade has given him more reason.. Combine that with a more structured system in Jersey imo, and you guys are in for some good times.

He did get traded for a reason, but I think this became very evident to him in this trade. Be patient also imo, he will struggle with a learning curve here also, but it's going to show come Jan that he is worth it

Still no regrets on Larsson either. He is what we need and by all the research done, we got a stud dman and exceptional teammate by all accounts.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd love to visit the Quick Stop, but I don't necessarily need to play on that roof. Any roof around the area would be gravy.

Yeah it's right down the street from the quik stop? You? Used to play in the spring league they used to have there.

We were playing pickup games quite often till a couple months back. Kid got his leg cut open on a lose screw and they've since shut it down. We still sneak in every once in a while, but the cops will give you the boot if they see you in there.

Hoping the give it the ole refurb.

The biggest impact he will have IMHO is his speed through the neutral zone. That will open up a lot of offense. A line of Hall- Henrique- Palmieri seems like it could really really work.

I don't really want Hall, Henrique, and Palmieri on the same line. at least to start. I Think we should try to break up at least 1 of them

Nah, that's Zacha-Zajac- Palmieri and that would be a surprisingly tough line to play against.

I did not even think of that with Zacha.

But stylistically, Hall is very similar to Parise and Palmieri is very similar to Langenbrunner. If it could work and make Zajac a 5.75 million dollar player again, it would do wonders for this team.

I always thought that Palmieri was closer to Parise as far as style of play goes. Parise was an elite grinder to me with an average shot at best. You would have to got back a long time to find a player as dynamic as Hall is offensively on a Devils team. His speed and offensive awareness is something that you don't see very often.

Hall-Zajac-Palmieri makes a ton of sense. Cammalleri-Henrique-DSP/Bennett would then be deployed mainly against 2nd pairs throughout the league.

If Taylor Hall is a playmaker you want him with a sniper. Henrique and mostly Palmieri have been show to be mostly shooters so far. Hall with Palmieri makes a ton of sense. Centering them should be someone capable of doing both things. Zajac with them worries me because two people who are pass first, but maybe that will open up Taylor to shoot more? I don't know. Henrique rides that line pretty well since he can pass and isn't afraid to shoot. Giving Hall two options for shooting lanes is probably best, but I will say I haven't watched Hall play a ton outside of whenever the Devils played the Oilers, so maybe I'm off on my assessment.

Still thinking this. Switching Cammy to RW would solidify one hell of a top 6. Also gives Zacha two hardworking and responsible vets to play with. The perfect environment for him to get his feet wet in the NHL.

Hall Henrique Cammalleri
Zacha Zajac Palmieri
Boucher ??? Bennett
Kalinin Fiddler DSP
