Hall shooting for the playoffs. Very good. If we are the first team he gets into the playoffs with, I think he stays loyal to us. After all, he didn't even want to leave the Oilers despite the bleak years there.

I think he stays loyal to you guys, for all the character issue bs people seem to think he has he seems like an incredibly loyal hockey player. I think he's got amped up because of the trade and maybe it was a bit of an opportunity for personal growth for him and this heartbreak will be great for him in the long run.

I honestly thought he would be like Malkin to McDavid's Crosby and that was going to be our team for the next 10 years, and although it really sucks seeing that trade go down I'm pretty excited to see how Hall does over there. Your first line is gonna be pretty fun to watch.

Thanks for the input. Glad you think Hall will be loyal to the Devils (I hope so, because we need him) and I don't really believe the character issues gossip being circulated about Hall, either. I'm excited to have him on the team, and he's sounded very motivated to do well with the Devils and take us back to the playoffs, so hopefully that can happen, because I miss the playoffs. I hope the Oilers do well, too, and Larsson can help you out on defense.

I think he'll be loyal no matter what happens. Him and Henrique are really good buddies and once he realizes he's so close to NYC and the nightlife there I don't think he'll want to leave.

Yeah honestly if those first four years go ok and he puts down some roots in the community and makes some good friends I could see him signing long term, and in the immediate future even if Zacha pans out really well I don't think Hall will have that many other guys in his price range on the team, don't see why you guys can't extend him in 3 years time even at a 8-10/year AAV.

I would absolutely love to see what this guy can do in the playoffs, I watched him in both of his World Junior U20 years and his Memorial Cup MVP seasons and the guy is just a winner. He's still one of my favourite players and I hope you guys do awesome this year.

I hope we do good as well thanks! Haha I'm very much looking forward to a Klefbom-Larsson first pairing.

Yeah, the Devils have a good amount of cap space and I think our cap situation looks pretty flexible going forward, so if Hall wants to sign long-term at the end of this contract, I think there should definitely be room to do that.

I could totally picture Hall as a player who could really dominate in the playoffs, and it would be awesome to seem him show that in the NHL like he did in juniors.

I think Larsson and Kelfbom have the potential to make a very good pairing, and Larsson is an extremely smart and solid player (though he doesn't have the flair of a player like Taylor Hall) so hopefully Oilers fans will be able to appreciate that a lot this season and in the future.

Hall can fly, who is going to keep up with him in our forward group this season?

I could see McLeod on his line in a few seasons.

I can't believe the trade was almost 3 months ago. Hockey is agonizingly close. Can't wait to see Hall in action for us.

To watch his speed in practice is one thing, but to see it live in game action is another.
I've always said the kid is well worth the price of admission....to watch him live is incredible.

Gonna say this now : Taylor Hall is going to be our McDavid.

If by that you mean he will be the teams best forward, I'd probably agree. If you mean that he's anywhere near as good as McDavid, I definitely disagree.

The former, of course.

Although I wouldn't mind the latter happening. Just imagine the rear-end-hurt by many out there if that ever happened. :D

Definitely the best player on the ice last night. Constantly on the puck, used his speed well to his advantage, led the team in shots and buries the game winner. He's only going to get better as he gets more comfortable.

Without him, were probably looking at another 0 for whatever start like we had last year. He and Cory have been incredible.

Why would we take Zacha off the center position where he is playing well to his off wing?

Hall-Zacha-Palms makes way more sense right now.

It's a combination I'd like to see tried because I think it could work (and no matter what we've been rolling with, our offense has seemed pretty terrible, filled with failed passes and breakouts, and two goals has been our maximum per game) and I think we need to get Rico going. Hall might get Rico going, since the times Rico has looked good this year have been with Hall, and we know Hall and Rico work together.

Whatever happens, we need Henrique and Cammy to start playing like top six forwards. Both of them are playing like garbage this year, and it's going to sink this team if they don't step up soon. Thank God for Hall and Cory or we wouldn't have any wins.

We don't have the center depth to move Zacha to RW (and he isn't a RW).
